This is a great thread!! I don't have a Skyline my self, but most on here know the unreliable R5GT Turbo, and I'm suffering under it from time to time...
But this is a great writeup and my comment is to your copper water pipe.
.
Most people go for stainless pipes because of the bling factor, but the coppers ability to direct heat away is supperior by far compared to stainless steel.
We've had several 'experiments' with with copper waterpipes on an old mini cooper used for streetcourse racing. Two similar build engines, same specs, except for the waterpipe on top of the engine (copper/steel). The fastest of the two, last time in Copenhagen grandprix, was the one with the copper pipe [not that placing tells anything], but the one with the steelpipe indicated heated engine after the race, whilst the copperpipe fitted cooper read normal temp - all due to a damn waterpipe. I say good choice - better cooling abilities, even though the close placing to the block!
