Checking brake pads

I have the standard set up on my gtr and want to check my brake pads to see how much is left on them...Can you see them without removing the wheel??
I have had a quick look and I could not see anything so it could mean they are worn out..

No mate, to see you have to remove the wheel to see inside the caliper!

My friend has an R32 and wants to change his brakes. I'm gonna assume he means his brake pads, is there anything special I should consider? Thanks...

Alex

Alex - they are a doddle mate - I am technically inept and even I managed it.

With regard to what to go for, DS2500s are generally considered one of the better pads available, but generate a lot of dust. I personally swapped from the DS2500s to EBC Red Stuff last time and found them OK. Standard brakes on the R32 are not that great though unless you change them completely.
