Little "Battery" light coming on under boost!?

Trying to figure out whats going on....Under higher boost the little battery light just left of the speedo begin's to brighten, and the car seems to be very "soft" above 5500rpms.....I don't get the big hit i'm expecting.

Another thing that cought my eye is that my battery volt guage on the center cluster is one mark below the highest mark...which is 18V i believe....Seems a littel high to me. and i'm running a super small Oddessey race battery.

Any thoughts??

The battery light sounds like an alternator problem and from what you said, it sounds like it is overcharging

If the voltage regulator is not working then the voltage output from the alternator will keep rising with engine revs, this is not good for the battery or the electronics in the car.

The ECU should have its own voltage regulators inside to supply a steady voltage, but I wouldn't leave it like this for too long.

It may be possible to have the alternator refurbished, or you might have to just replace the whole thing.
