Starting car after 4/5 months....

Hi guys,

Car is going in for a full service and cambelt in a few weeks. Just a bit of advice really, the car hasn't been started for 4/5 months plus and been on a Ctek charger.

I know the fuel will be nearly rubbish by now, but I'm concerned about oil getting round the engine from a cold cold start with the oil been sitting for so long. Any recommendations?

Thanks

If battery is good, fire it up, no other way to circulate the oil, use fuel stabilizer next time so the fuel does not degrade. After you fill up with some fresh fuel change the fuel filter

I thought it may be better to just push the car to the trailer, and get the oil changed before starting it?

Or, will it do no harm starting it after all this time?

Thank you for the tip though

Will do no harm, always change the oil (if its coming due) and use fuel stabilizer before storing the car for a long period. Mine will sit 4 months too but I changed the oil 900 miles ago so its still good to go

Best idea is to remove the clips for the fuel injectors, then turn it over without it starting until you get a couple of bar oil pressure (I can get over 2 bar on just the starter) Then replace the clips and fire up.
