Finally got around to posting a run from way back when. This was an 11.1@128 mph pass on an R32 GT-R.
Notice the rpms going up and down 300 rpms between frames at 46.325 - 46.43 46.53 . TPS is close to flat though this whole range. From 130 km/hr - 170 km/hr Obviously in here the timing is changing. CAS Time RPM Speed TPS 45.492 6082 130 3.75 45.595 5854 132 3.77 45.695 6112 133 3.82 45.795 6165 134 3.84 45.901 6226 136 3.89 46 6393 137 3.89 46.116 6527 139 3.92 46.222 6418 141 3.94 46.325 6765 142 3.94 46.43 6353 143 3.94 46.533 6640 145 3.94 46.636 6578 147 3.97 46.735 6570 148 3.96 46.841 6877 150 3.98 46.94 6934 151 3.99 47.04 6954 153 3.99 47.161 7173 155 4.01 47.26 7194 156 4 47.36 7102 158 4 47.466 7052 160 4.01 47.565 7518 161 4.03 47.67 7668 163 4.02 47.772 7496 164 4.04 47.87 7633 166 4.03 47.971 7936 167 4.03 48.075 7800 168 4.05 48.191 7898 170 4.05 YouTube - 11 second R32 GT-R 11.5 @ 124 mph pass when I tried to run it out in 3rd gear from the same day |

Heres a photo of an altered CAS.
Picasa Web Albums - Sean - Skyline I think the stock thin CAS wheel may flutter about a little bit. Maybe if the software resolution was a little altered, it might work out ok for a temporary fix. Otherwise a crank sensor to know where the crank actually is. |

We run a lot of GT-R's with AEM's. The first few dyno charts here are a 2835, 2.6, AEM car. Picasa Web Albums - Sean - Dyno charts |

Sean, the CAS mod is basically the same as the one I tried on my car, but I've got a major wiring issue somewhere, which after a good 4 hours work, we couldn't sort out. However, when the CAS did work correctly for the short period, the engine was super smooth.

Crazy weird stuff, I have found to be grounds. Just happened to me. We had a code 75 on the Attesa. TPS code, TPS changed, TPS checked. Wiring. ECU check, ATTESA ECU checked/changed. Checked voltage at ATTESA - correct.
Ended up being the ground wire on the alternator being loose. Just a little loose. Not falling off loose. On the R34 race car, we had a code for a wheel speed sensor, and it was a missing ground, that when we swapped harnesses, we forgot to hook up. The weird part was it worked for a whole race, and couple of practice sessions before it stopped working. The Motec ADL dash, none of the sensors worked until we grounded the dash direct to the battery. Anywhere but direct picked up too much noise...... Did I mention grounds and weird issues ? |

The 'fix' is the same as your's Sean, it works very well.
All the CAS issues are filtering problems. The AEM can't filter out noise as well as the Nissan specific ECU's. So, to over come this, a lower resolution of teeth is required. Also, on the older GTR's, the wiring loom deteriates and the grounds become weaker. As we found out on mine. I need to re-wire my CAS(the plug/wires are showing signs on much useage) and try that. I'm a little dissapointed my loom is in such bad shape, but very pleased that Dan managed to come up with a solution. On a plus note, the engine did produce 450hp @ 0.8 bar without any seroius time being spend on the mapping. Due to the lateness of the hour, it was a slightly rushed job. I am very confident in the CAS fix and I understand why. It's all to easy to 'throw the towel in' when problems present themselves, but a little Percy Veriance(Percy who???) and solutions can be found. Any just to finish this post, we also found loads of ground and weird issues. |

The car sounded so sweet on boost and he glowing maifold was crazy.
keep it up mate and you will be there soon. Hopfully with me close behind. I must admit im almost ready to try out the aem due to the convidence and knowledge of dan . Really nice guy. Also he tells you about everything he is doing which in my opinion is wicked. I learnt alot yesturday and eat alot. First time i have ever seen mapping being done. Good show. i thought we were going to get done by the old bill. Two gunmetal r32 gtrs same place same time means trouble. I would of pulled us over |

Are you saying the CAS was never an issue or it was and now its fixed? Explain a bit about the ignition and what you learned. All the talk and theories about cam/crank timing belt variance/timing belt tensioners ect,ect....wasn't the problem? There had to something to all of that since so many people knew about it and had possible explanations. I still don't know if I understand all of that but I am happy your car is running again and even happier that it is running WELL!!! After all you have gone through, you deserve some good fortune!!!
