Angry hks boost control set up (r32gtr)

just fitted a blitz racing ecu, off boost it now pulls alot better than before, but cant get a good setup on the boost controler, its running around 0.5-0.6 off boost, how do i get it to run a smooth 0.8-0.9 without it missfiring & wanting to over boost to 1.5? i havnt set it to this but sometimes it just wants to f*** off, any ideas what to do once ive pressed mode?.lol. what should the over boost setting be at? MODS: BLITZ ECU, HKS POWER FLOW CAT-BACK, TWIN HKS BLOW OFF VALVES, HKS INDUCTION FILTER KIT, RACE ALLOY RAD, HKS TURBO TIMER, & THE TROUBLESOME HKS BOOST CONTROLER, havent had it rolling road tuned yet but sorly i should be getting around 400-440bhp with these mods?

Wayne,

okay 1st I presume your car has Standard turbo,s fitted if so you MUST not run your car over 1.0 bar boost otherwise the turbo will bnreak and it may cause a expensive engine rebuild.

2, The Blitz ECU will be mapped for 100 octane Jap fuel so the ignition timing will need to be retarded to suit UK fuel.

3, the car if it misfire at 0.6 and doesnt misfire then misfires at 0.8 it coul dhave the following faults; 1, spark plugs worn out 2, coild breaking down 3, fuel pump worn out 4 , ignition amp breaking down. 5, crank angle sensor faulty.

4, this car will run approx 360ish bhp "correctly" set up. Have you got front pipe, dekat pipe and exhaust system fitted?

hope that helps.

yes im running standard turbos, no front pipe, but dekat to hks power flow exhaust system.
she dont misfire until you turn the boost controler on & the boost output is increased, 0.5-0.6 is what it runs without it on, so i set it to about 0.85 & it feels like its over boosting BUT it all depends on the wheather, dont do it all the time, & if it dont you can still feel it at high rpm, now ive fitted the blitz ecu its worse so what you say makes sense.
you may find ive got a thread like this in the turbo section just so i get a bit of feed back as im new to all this, if i was to add a set of 550cc injectors, uprated fuel pump, race high flow fuel filter, would i be getting near to 400bhp? i live in the oxford area so who do you recommend i sent it to for a rolling road tune/remap?

thanks for the reply

My thoughts,

we can dyno your car no problems, I would go for a mappable on the ECU either Power Fc or HKS F-con SZ , fit a front pipe , poss a new boost controller some time to map ecu and set up boost controller and if your car/engine is in good condition your car will give in excess of 360bhp at 0.95 bar of boost.

Mail me on mark@abbeymotorsport.co.uk and we can discuss prices.
