This has most likely been covered but I cant find what im looking for, What Im after is any info you chaps have on this upgrade, I just got a GTR intercooler and Nismoman and I came up with a few ideas but I would like to see how other people have done it as well, Any help appreciated.

Two names that cropped up in my search where Andy42uk and Stu, If you guys or anyone else have any hints they would be welcome.

Spooky, I just got hold of a GTR intercooler for my GTST and am looking to fit it.

I'll be keeping an eye on this thread

If I do get it fitted soon i'll give you the process.

Ok I have had a couple so I'll keep it very brief.
If you mount it upside-down the pipes will fit through the bumper support bar end holes, (after cutting away the lower half of the support bar), and it will not require much more in the way of bracketry to hold it in place, then use common sense for the pipes, this is how I did mine on fisrt GTS-T, and probably gives best cooling, but you will need to cut masses of the front bumper out, and use different indicators mounted elsewhere, I used 'reversing' lights with chrome/orange lamps, it looked good and worked well, but it did look 'moddified'....
This time around I mounted it up the normal way, and VERY close to the air-con condenser, air-con electric fan r/h side has a plastic lug that you need to saw off.
I moved 1 horn. The pegs for mounting on top I sawed off then drilled to holes on the tabs, and just used 90degree brackets from the support bar ends with M8 bolts going down into the drilled holes. At the bottom I used 6mm thick 25mm wide flat bar, bent tabs again at 90deg. on the intercooler end, and bolted to the cooler, and the other end I drilled into the chassis rails and double bolted it underneath the rail, just trying to put some strenght back after cutting the bumper support bar. Bumper still needs cutting on the reverse side, but not so much.
Again pipework as ness. all pretty straightforward.
This way my indicators fit, just!
is that enough?

I looked into fitting it upsidedown, but I would rather keep the car looking fairly standard, So thanks for saving me time looking at that option, Just the piping I need to get now, I was hoping to run the pipe back over the intercooler, but I have seen some where it comes over the cooling fan, Which did you go for ?

We have looked at making a pipe kit to allow people to fit the GTR intercooler to the GTS but I`v never got around to it. I`v got a few good ideas on the pipe work also.

In the meantime if you need any alloy bends we have plenty in stock

I went over the cooling fan, ideally you need to bend the pipe a little, I didn't, and trimmed the fan blades a little CAREFULLY!.
I got a meter of 63mm ally pipe off of ebay for about 15 quid, and used 'lorry' intercooler pipes onto the cooler which also have enough reduction in them for it all to fit up correctly, on the bends I used std rubber skyline ones, I think they are stronger than a lot of the overpriced sillicon stuff.

Richard Bell, A kit for doing the conversion would be great, I was wondering if anyone did this, Im sure they would be a viable product, especially if they use existing parts off the shelf, If there was also an instruction book, that would be worth something I think, I know I would be thinking about it seriously if I was in that line of buisness.... P.S. I will give you a call when I find out what I need, Going to get the bumper off soon I hope and have a look.

Andy42uk, How did you find your throttle response ?, Mines allready a bit laggy due to the T3 turbo, I was wondering if it would be worth putting the mass meter upstream of the intercooler, just before the curved alu pipe that goes to the throttle, Anyone tried this ?

Going to get a decent turbo when I have sorted all the other hundreds of things, You know how it is

I tried moving the AFM on last gts-t, even with SAFC and S-ITC I couldn't match the performance of before the turbo....it realy annoyed me, in my head it makes sense for the AFM to be as near the throttle butterfly as poss. in reality I gave up...oh I am running 12 PSI on stock internals at the moment.
There is more 'lag' as you increase the volume of air 'resivouir' after it has been meter'd and fuel'd for, however it is a good trade off IMHO.
My performance real world bench mark is my friends BMW M3 '02' plate, LIGHTLY modded, and lets just say I'm smilling.........
FYI I have many parts I intend to fit to mine, +1mm wisco forged pistons, Tomei cams, HKS ex. manifold and ext, waste-gate, T70 hybrid turbo 50/70 cold-hot a/r HKS 740cc inj. .....but for now it rocks, it's just a good package, I have suspension coming from Chris Wilson, good seats to stop passengers banging their heads, HICAS functioning as Nissan intended...
I do not think of it as this or that fast, just in the real world it is easy to drive quickly....
Here's a good example....a 'known' modded fast golf was racing a 'known' audi A3 1.8t the other day, I came across them on my way home in a bit of a hurry, out of a ring road roundabout I waited whilst they accelerated, then flicked in and out and gone.......now I know that is not 'spectacular' but it was easy, safe and fun..and on a reliable car on a budget...

Let us know more Andy......

Anything else you have tried and not bothered with ? Im afraid I dont get much time to experiment on my own, But my bud with a 300zx found a real improvement with the mass meter near the throttle.

We have had a cnc mandrel bent kit done to put GTR cooler in R32, R33, used it several times, 2 1/2 in alloy.
