Torque wrench

What is he highest torque I will need when rebuilding my engine? I need to buy a torque wrench so want to get the right one!!

Hi Simon,

I would suggest you to download the Engine Service Manual from the internet to find out (presume you need it anyway if you rebuilding your engine, very helpful, and everything should be covered!)

buy 2,

about the highest is on the crank pully (150Nm) or the head bolts (103Nm) for these you'll want a long bar to make life easy 1/2" drive

stuff like tensioners (52Nm) is easier with a smaller one with 3/8" drive

Bit more than that Andy tbh.
I done up my crank pulley bolt yesterday to 500Nm/370 lbft as per manual.
You maybe better off hiring or borrowing a torque wrench for that mind, as at that sort of size (3/4 drive) is around 600 quid to buy one. Luckily i managed
to borrow one from work.

Get one with an indicator dial on, rather than a snap type indicator.
