Trust T88H-38GK

Hi Guys,

Just curious if anyone is running this turbo at the moment?

Just after power figures at what boost level, engine capacity and fuel. Also what RPM they approach full boost (at this stage we will say full boost is ~1.5bar).

I will be using a 2.65L bottom end (bored RB26) capable of revving to 9000rpm.

Also im going to start another thread, but does anyone know how the Trust H-pattern 6 speed boxes hold up?

Ron Kiddell is on his RB30 IIRC

IIRC the boost threshold is almost the same as the next size down T88s, 100rpm or so difference, think due to more modern internals than the usual WW2 spec stuff.

This is old memories tho, so maybe ring Ron or someone for better info.

So far we got 800 RWHP with that turbo at 27 Psi with sever ignition hesitation at around 7500 all the way to the red line 9500 RPM Tuning was done By Justin Nini from Tuning Concept with AEM EMS. The turbo start spooling at 5400 RPM but full boost comes at 6200 RPM. We will resume the dyno session after we get rid of the ign cutting. Hopefully the HKS DLI will do it. The amazing thing though is the fact that Justin managed around 700 RWHP at 23 Psi ON 91 PUMP GAGE . . I think that it is a promising turbo. Making 900 WHP should not be a problem with that turbo

Cars Spec:
Jun Head Modified
Tomei 290 /11.3 Lift En/Ex
HKS 1000 INj
T88H38JK
Trust Intake
3.5 In Exhaust
AEM EMS with 5Bar Map Sensor
87mm Jun Pistons
Crower Con Rods
HKS Pulley Damper
NJK #9 Plugs
Trust 5 Row Intercooler Drag-SPL
Supporting fuel System

And by the way, we had the Trust 6 Speed Dog Ger on that car and it was one of the best Dog gears you can buy for its price but Trust no longer sell it. You can find it at Quaife.

Good Luck

Thanks for that information, helps alot.

Engine specs of this car are:
Head modified and ported to suit exhaust manifold
JUN 280 in/ex cams with 11.35mm lift, titanium retainers and springs
Standard crank (ACL race bearings)
Eagle conrods with ARP bolts
Arias pistons
T88H-38GK kit (Trust manifold, wastegate etc)
Trust dual entry Drag-SPL intercooler
3.5" straight through exhaust
Big ass fuel system
Power FC with Z32 AFM's

Aiming for 450-500kw at the treads on pump fuel (100RON here in Australia). Not sure how the Eagle rods are going to hold up, but hopefully I can get 12 months out of it and then if it goes bang will do JUN 2.7L stroker.

As for gearboxes, I can pick up a modified Trust 6 speed (upgraded input shaft which is apparantly their weak link) for $5,000 or a OS Giken 6 speed sqeutnail, but thats another $10,000.

Might go for the Trust box at this stage...

EDIT: Forgot to mention its got a HKS DLI in it as well.
