Hi All,
Posting on behalf of a friend who has a R34. He has recently being doing some cosmetic and audio work on the car and its started to behave a bit strangly. Out of the blue the car would not start. The engine was trying to turn over but it would not fire. It was clear there was a problem with fuel as when you turned the key you could not hear the fuel pump priming. After a lot of looking around the car and scratching our heads we found that a 15 amp fuse appeared to be missing from the panel under the steering wheel which we thought was on the fuel circuit. By placing a fuse in, the car started perfectly and run BUT it would continue to run even after pulling the keys out the ignition. Upon removal of the fuse the engine stopped and then the car appeared to work fine starting and stopping as usual. Then again yesterday for no apparent reason it would not start. By turning on the ignition. Placing the fuse in and then pulling it out again was enough to trigger the fuel pump and again get everything working as normal. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this? No work was being done around the fuse panel etc so not sure why it just suddenly started. Thanks in advance Rob |

does the car have a turbo timer? maybe that's wired in wrong, or playing up or something. the symptoms you describe are very unusual!! What happens if you put the fuse in, fire it up then pull the fuse while it's running?
