2x10 or 1x12?

basically, with the amp I've got to run subwoofers, I can either run 2x10", each getting 180watts, or run a single 12" at 500watts. Pros and cons on either setup? With the single 12", the amp will be bridged, which may (?) negatively affect damping. But 180 watts seems a little on the light side for a sub. The box will be sealed, and the only other speakers running will be 6.5" woofers and tweeters in the front, biamped at 120watts apiece.

any ideas?

oh, and I'm trying to sort out ideal tweeter placement (R32). I'd like to mount in the sail panels for a clean installation, but would the driver's side instrument binnacle interfere with sound projection from the right side? The only R32 install I've seen had the tweeters up on the doors about even with the steering wheel. In my '94 B13 SE-R I put the tweeters in the kick panels, as that was the trend at the time - is no one doing that anymore/is it crap?
