am i correct in thinking that to remove the gear stick one.

lifts up the two rubber gaitors
remove the 3 allen head screws, remove the circlip and out it comes?

my 3 screws the heads rounded

exactly that, got it out now. just needed to get some really long circlip pliers to reach the circlip.
