Is there any reason why one turbo appears all coked up, and the other still shiney?

just curious

The back turbo is the one that gets a little oil through it from the standard breather system.

Mine were exactly the same when i removed them for swappage, just to put your mind at rest

any idea what causes the coking on the turbo casings? is that leaking gaskets or something?
