You're right, but thoses cars not have 1600kg. The Skyline is too heavy and aero is crap against a Ferrari for exemple, but again if an other 1600kg car with 500HP, same tires, and nearly same airflow dynamics can beat the Z-Tune with RWD on the Ring , then they should fire all the people at Nissan who worked for the last 16years on the special 4X4 from the GTRs up to the Z-Tune.
I am really looking forward to the new GTR, it really has the chance with the technologie of tomorrow to prove that the High-Tec 4X4 is superior to any RWD on a curvy track like the Ring. (when it's driven the way it ment to be)

The question I am asking myself for long is : If a F1 car would have an advanced 4X4 Attesa and SHicas, while keeping the initial weight, would it be faster then being RWD on a track?

Wastegate set for 10 psi (no sense risking the factory block). This is a street car and was built for driveability, not max power. Owner is very pleased with the results. Some day he'll build a Keith Black bottom end for this engine and turn up the boost, but until then this will do nicely.

Specifications:

Block: Factory Chrysler RB 440
Crankshaft: Eagle 4.15
Rods: Eagle H Beam
Pistons: Ross
Compression: 9.2
Heads: Edelbrock Performer RPM 88cc
Intake: Edelbrock Performer RPM
Cam: Comp solid roller
224/230 @.050, .577/.590, 114 LSA
Throttle Body: Accufab 80mm
Turbo: Garrett GT47-88, .96 A/R
Wastegate: HKS GT-II 60mm
Boost: 10.5 PSI
Exhaust: 5-inch downpipe, dual 3-inch, Magnaflows

Rear Wheel Dyno Numbers:

Stick your Enzo, McLaren F1 or anything else you want right up your du**er, as that is the real definition of a beautiful car.

Due to a million and one things like heat loss due to surface area and inefficient burn on cool cylinder walls etc a big CC cylinder makes more sense and is more efficient BUT (there is always a but) as the cylinder gets bigger other factors mess this up like part throttle opening causing a low pressure volume to be overcome, weight and fiction of bigger parts and piston rings etc etc so it's not clear cut and simple by a VERY long way.

Engine design is a nightmare but I would have no doubt that the LS2 could make those mpgs especially with the DOD tech it uses.

There is not a lot of useful stuff on the net once you get to this level of wanting to know why but some stuff is here...

http://www.wdv.com/Hypercars/digiCam.html

that may be of use. You really need to buy a few books off Amazon etc to get to the bottom of the answers to "what is best" etc.
I understood that 250-300cc was the optimum size for a cylinder, as per F1. A 900cc cylinder is well away from that range.

Thanks for the link.
