Not if it included stealing/evading duty etc, but then I am very old fashioned like that. Shall we leave the tittle tattle so as not to spoil Ants game review? Can start a new thread if need be.

I'm not agreeing with you mate, I think it's WRONG to download/buy illegal games....it's stealing.
Petrol aint the same as Games ! Games prices arent made up mostly of Fat Cat VAT....I'm sure everyone would like cheaper fuel and games but lets get back to the real world.

Tesco sell these same games for £40.00 (their buying power is amazing shall we say) So i am actually making a £10 saving on each game without resorting to illegal tactics. So that is akin to getting my v-power cheaper. Whereas your way is akin drilling holes in people petrol tanks. Its illegal for a reason, but as already said they'll always be people trying to beat the system one way or another, thats human nature ![]()

£50 for a game is absolute nonsense. These prices are doing nothing other than giving people incentives to look for alternative means of acquisition. Most people CAN'T afford the prices of games these days.
Besides, why is an XBOX game almost double the price of a PC game? Beggars belief.

All the high street shops are lowering there prices to compete with the likes of Amazon and such other Internet companies. Just purchased Call Of Duty 3 for £36:99 FROM H.M.V. which is a steal, since I have spent all weekend playing it.(much cheaper than heading out to the pub for a few pints and watching footie)
Carterjohn you need to stop paying peanuts for games as most of the pirates fund illegal companies which are turning this country into a SH@@T HOLE, an hour of your wages is nothing to pay for a game that has taken months to evolve

Does anyone know if a Xbox game designed for use on a UK Xbox will work on a Japan spec machine?

On the subject of Piracy, I think it's wrong.. if everybody had your opinion CarterJohn there wouldn't be a film, video game or music industry, it's as simple as that.. Agreed that £50 is quite a lot to pay for a game, however if you put the clocks back to '78 when I started playing video games, a single arcade machine would have cost you a good couple of grand [more if you factor in inflation] so in a way, it's actually quite cheap for what you get nowadays The first game I ever played was when I was 8 [1976] and it was star trek on a commodore pet 2001 and it totally blew me away, and was the main reason why I got into the computer industry!! I remember wetting my pants playing “mind that meteor” on the ZX81, where you were basically controlling an "A" at the bottom of the screen with a load of inverse spaces coming down the screen at you in black and white... Boy have things moved on since then - lol!! ![]() I wonder how long it will take before film and video games reach the same level [i.e. they are indistinguishable] real time render vs pre render is about 6 years apart so hopefully in about 5 to 10 years time fully interactive films will be available. I can't wait !! ![]()

I`m in the middle of Call Of Duty3 and lovin it, always been a fan of the whole series but after reading Ants` review and having a look at some vids of the game think this will be next!!
On a side note i agree with paying retail for games(cheapest i can find obviously!!) as i feel the more we put back the better the budget for the next game! If we all download or use coppies where are the funds going to come from for the next games?? Bob

Have a look at Play-Asia.com - they usually tell you which games are region coded or not.
