I have made comment in the past about skylines being ugly.
it isn't as simple as what bits are on it, or even if it is modified at all. To me the GTR is an ugly brute of a car. there is nothing subtle or pretty about it. look at a silvia (S15) compared to the GTR. the silvia is all flowing lines and has an attitude undertone to it, wheras the R34 is about as subtle as a sledgehammer. Do I think skylines are ugly ?... for sure. do I also think they are the ultimate car... yup. I am going to have another GTR soon, but no matter what is done to one it is an ugly car. Matt your car is well cool. I love all GTR's (yes I am a snob as I am not keen on the GTS variants too much even though they go like stink) I even like all the shapes equally. I still have a soft spot for the 33 as it is what I used to have, I am planning on getting a 32 next though. it is a difficult thing to quantify.. think of things in nature and you will get my point, a great white shark is no beauty but it is the epitome of total power, A Lion (Male) is pure unadulterated agression. they are both ugly in the definition of the word but they are both at the top of their game. I hope someone understands what I am trying to say ![]() /Steve

^^^ Agree
My R32 is soon done also. I don't have any pictures yet, but I hope it will look like what I want it to when it is done. But Body work can be such a pain, lucky my body shop guy is doing a great job on it. Saying that, for the guys who think the R32 looks great stock, all I can tell you is that I have made the car VERY UGLY! ![]()

Lambo doors. Shopping lists. 20" Chrome Spinners. Stupid bodykits. Skyline owners should be subject to certain requirements, just like Ferrari did with the Enzo; lease all cars to proven previous owners, then after a 5 year trial period, have the option to purchase. That crazyness would weed out the crazies....
Steve, I agree with you though. Skylines are sledgehammers, meant to scare the living crap out of you while sitting in a parking space. There is a purpose to the Skyline ugly, but adding flames and doors and giant MaxPower bodykits doesn't improve things. Please, someone, put these people out of their misery....

I don't think that a Skyline is ugly at all, it looks boxy and aggressive, the body lines reflect the power, by keeping the car as a 2 seat, usable coupe and not a flat unusefull surf-board . . . .
Bimmers are more ugly then a Skyline, as they want to put hightech looks, boring conservative looks and their egocentric historic emblem touch in one car, which looks to me like a big patchwork . . . with no soul. At least they fit still in the rules of design . . . in which the fine exemples in this thread don't fit anymore . . . ![]() |

in my view skyline are muscle cars of japan and supose to look big and strong and especially when you see one in your rear view mirror it gives the driver in front saying "move out the way" but this I think is more on the GTR than the GTS and they are more suttle to look at unless you kit it up but it will have to be the right kit. for some people modifying is a complete mess as they tend to stick anything and everything on it and it looks shitee, but hay what ever makes you happy as it your car, you either get respect for what you done on your car or you dont and get laughed at.

I'm one of those for as close to OEM as possible. I couldn't vote for any single thing as alot of them contribute.
My idea of a perfect looking BNR32 is standard all around except lowered on some Volk Racing TE37's/CE28N's or Nismo LM GT4's. For the R33 the same thing. Also a Nismo 400R kit does well. BNR34? Just like the BNR34, as close to stock. Same wheel choices as well. So a Nismo or Top Secret front bumper & side skirts do well. Not to mention a Nismo or Top Secret rear wing. And thats it. But if i had to vote for one thing i'd vote for the bling wheels, although the R33 takes bling well to me, but thats me & the R33 is my least favourite :P. |

i dont like the r33 its the roundness of it that just makes me hate it so much with the 32 the 80s styling really shows and the stright lines and boxy shape make it look soo good like some one else said they fixed the 33 shape by going back to a more r32 shape on the r34 but i do have to agree with everyone about wheels there was a gtst nr me with 18s now i know why he put them on he wanted the extra rubber and grip they provided but they looked so dog ugly
well thats my two cents worth im sorry if i offended any r33 owners but like most tings in life its a personal choice |

R32s are beyond ugly (too plain and boxy, but not in a sporty way). Veilside has the cure. R33s are a step up, but too big and still on the bland end of styling (this is what I drive BTW). R34s are much better, finally combining a more sporty appearance in proper sports car dimensions. In the end, Nissan compromised (like so many others) to keep insurance/taxes down for the consumer by making it a 4-seater. Any true sports car would lose the dead weight of a back seat and extended chassis. It's a testament to technology that it's done so well. Imagine the GTR 400 lbs lighter!
