I agree with what was said in this post...
It's not as simple as that. One man's meat is another man's poison. Nemesis R33 anyone? I've seen some great Skylines with carbon bits, chrome wheels, big spoilers, graphics, custom paint, etc. etc. that look absolutely amazing. I've seen others with the same kind of stuff but they look cack. But as for the ones with bare carbon, chrome wheels, graphics, etc. etc. looking cack - (apologies for the size of this but what the hell....) |

Way to go to ruin a great car (RE: The Gull Wing R34)
This kind of subject has been thrown around these forums a number of times over the years, first time I've seen a poll though ![]() I'm with a number of people here, if the work done has been done properly and professionally, then it is typically ok. Mixing bodykits is actually a good thing in some cases as, in my opinion, some full kits look awful when used in their entirety. Unpainted Carbon fibre is also a nice, when used on the right car with the right colour AND with the right other accessories. Graphics... tricky one, definate no-no to shopping list from my corner, however, some pattern graphics I've actually found quite nice, it really does depend on the colour, shape, bodykit and sizing of the graphic itself. You have to look at the car overall to judge that. Oversized wheels are when they look like they've had to modify the body to fit them in (diameter wise.) When widening the body, that would need to depend on the extent of the widening and how well it was done. And then the choice of wheel placed in the new space. Chrome ... Skyline ... same sentence... doesn't work for me I'm afraid. I was given a set of chromes Kosei RGs with my R33 when I bought it. First thing I did was get them refurbed. They looked half decent after that.Massive spoilers are, again, something that has to be considered with the rest of the overall appearance of the car. For instance, I like the rather large Top Secret GT2 spoiler, but it would look a little silly if the rest of the car was standard or near to standard. Spoilers that are too wide are not good, I've seen some on GTSt Skylines that look vaguely GT-R like but are much too wide and as a result, look odd. Removing the spoiler from skylines is something I really don't like, but that one is really a personal choice. Paint jobs are a free reign in my opinion. You can get away with a lot with a custom paint job, the 'butal ugliness' of the Skyline will prevail through most colours. Accept Pink... eh Andy j/kI do think not enough people think carefully enough about what they want to achieve with the look of their machines. But to point finger at a couple of people who are doing it right... MeLLon Stu and sparks who are both considering their options thoughtfully. Of course at the end of the day, you could discuss the point until the cows come home because of our individuality . It also goes without saying, although I'm saying it, that what I've just blurted out here is of course, my individual opinion on Skyline styling ![]() My last point is that exterior modifications, for me, are fine as long as you can still see what the base was. Sometimes you see some cars and you're often left wondering... what the hell is that... oh it's a Last edited by Alexb; 11th July 2007 at 11:16 AM. |

There is never something everyone will like no matter how nice or tuned or rice it is. Theres to many people with different veiws to say what makes a car nice or not.
However on this forum most people do have a similar taste and its normally very good in my books but am sure in some peoples eyes there just boring or normal looking. I like some mad cars at shows but then I like car that have a purpose because its actually fun to drive. Maybe i've just drank to much and yapping to much crap ![]() |

not taking care of the car is ugly. I mean keeping 5 layers of dirt on it, buying more mods for it when it could just use some tlc and replace the missing or broken parts int and ext. I would rather replace the torn seats than buy some new guages or a new head unit. Too many times I see that, peolpe will spend rediculous amounts of money to make it faster when it looks like ass, and then they try to show it off.
