i know what you mean mattj, i get that about mine as i have carbon bonnett on silver with gold blitz rims. people say looks horrible. but as most people say if you like it bugger everyone else.

neons are a no no
lambo doors a defo no no.

the skyline is a beautiful shape weather its a 32,33,34. so to be fair you dont want too ruin the main lines and flow of the car which is why some kits i dont like. for instance(going too get grilled for this) on a 33 i dont think the duluck front bumper suits the car. the 33 is a curvy car with flowing lines. then you get a pointy and jaggedfront bumper on it. doesnt look right too me.

all in all personal taste

in a way I agree with you b19 the do luck R33 front bumper dont suit the R33 but to be honest there isnt much ront bumper out there that is available for the R33 either. the only front bumper choice you will most likely to get is the Nismo, top Secret, Jun or the do luck. sure there will be more out there but in the UK those are the biggest or more or less the only options.
thats why I stick with my oem front bumper with carbon lip, nismo air duct and a set of leg chopping AS carnards. and it does set the car off very nicely.

I can tolerate most things that are done badly/untastefully to a Slyline but a bad copy or ill-fitted kit just just kills me- BIG TIME!

Theres just no nothing worse than that IMO.

I think that Skyline GTR's should follow a motorsport look really as that is what they were originally designed for. The worst look on a skyline is the stupid shopping lists on the side!

theres an R34 gtr I saw on ebay once with some horrid graphic and really bad slogan up the side of it like "2fast and 2 furious" or something - that destroyed it.
I think the cars look great standard but I like seeing how ppl alter them. That said I've seen some bits that have put me off, different front bumpers and some wheels that simply dont look good but then it comes down to personal taste all the time I think.

I think deep dish rims pretty much set off ANY skyline.

I love the shape and lines of the 33, and if/when i do add bits it'll be subtle bits to the body, but only after i've done a lot of research, and sorted my engine first.

My MR2 had a full veilside kit, ice-led neons and did have a huge dragon and jap writing on it at some point, but it was an original kit, excellent fit and everything blended together well.

With the R33 GTR, they have got the perfect shape imho, so i think subtle body changes are okay, but NO badly fitting kits, some graphics are okay, depending on what they are, and definately NO shopping lists down the sides.
Obviously this is my opinion and after having done some of the above with the 2, they won't be done with my GTR.

Each to their own though, as it would be a bloody boring world if we all had the same spec, colour, tastes, etc.

I guess mine is large enough to be in that class...
I wouldn't have it any other way though

i think your spoiler matt looks fantastic im a spoiler man myself i think most gtr's be they r32 r33 r34 look fantastic in standard form but can all do with an alloy upgrade at least. basically it would be a dull world with everyone with the same full kits miking and matching if fine once done right ive seen skyline pictures through this post with un believe bad taste thanks for the pics guys looks there will always be good and bad taste out there lets just hope it swings with good taste

Just think about it; how boring would this world be when everyone had the same taste for cars etc?How the hell would we be able to laugh at rediculous cars, or be stunned by a truly gorgeous one...

Please ignore that whole thing with the R35. A friend of mine edited this after seing the original picture in the "members gallery" somewhere. Needless to say his disliking of the R35 is beyond shocking.
However the rest of the pic got some value in this matter. Personally, I think the z-tune look is without a doubt the best look a Skyline can ever have, but I also like a "close to" stock look as well.

I.e, imo a skyline should have:
- a clean paintjob
- no stickers, vinyls etc
- clean jap style wheels, max 19" (like rays etc)
- a subtle, but slightly aggressive and clean body apperance (such as the z-tune look)
- one hell of an engine, but no "bling"ed out engine compartment
- close to stock interior, preferably with leather seats
- a nice sound system (if it's a road going car), but NOT a flashy "bling" one

Best sentance to sum it all up would be somewhat like: Subtle and clean, but at the same time aggressive, with a strong quality feel.

...or in other words, never EVER like these(!);

...but allways like this:

Anything that would invoke a passer by to call out "shopping trolley, great wok!, fried rice, ....

in my case a rather over wieght young lady called out to me and the boys at the lights." You've got an ugly car", Jono who happened to be residing in the front passenger seat at the time wound down the window and yelled back, "You've got fat legs" to which the hundred or so people standing at said intersection on saturday night all turned and looked at her....who's the ugly one.
