Rob, sounds like a great service mate

Just a question, do the cars have to be de-registered and re-registered because it goes out of the country for so long ? You dont have to pay any sort of import duties again I assume ?

as far as this end goes, I import the car under a temporary import order, its a very legally involved process with declartions of intention, time scale etc and it has to be aproved by some pen pusher somewhere.
Doing it this way, I don't have to pay huge taxes.

Basicly from a UK customers point of view there are just a few small fee's to pay for usual port, customs and inland shipping charges this end.

As the car is exported to me for 'repairs, modification or maintainence' not sold to me there is no big deal in getting the car back into the UK as you are not actually purchasing it from me, your just getting your own car back.
For piece of mind, check with a shipping company/customs broker in the UK.

Update 1 : Monday 11th Feb

Rob has run the car on the dyno today to get a bassline figure purely for comparison as the project progresses. As always Rob was super helpful and explained all that went on and also explained the graphs

The car made just over 310 BHP @ the wheels, with a solid smooth Torque curve (For the last time!!). This is all done with standard engine just Blitz filters, HKS Downpipes and a JASMA Cat back exhaust

Next up the work to strip it down starts

Cheers Sparks

I just want to clear up one thing if I can please so there is no missunderstanding.

Due to the diff ratio's in the R34 and not wanting to run the rollers excessivly fast we did this power run in 4th gear and up to 9000rpm (not 5th gear which is 1:1)

All other model GTR's we run in 4th which is 1:1 but they have lower diff ratio's.

I have decided to do another run today in 5th up to 7500-7800rpm as this will be the rev limit of the new RB30, then we will have acurate information to compare against.

It will be interesting to see what difference the 4th to 5th gear change makes to the readings, No dought Sparks will post the 5th gear run as soon as he gets it.

I just wanted to make sure that everyone was clear as to how we tested everything.

Rob

Every dyno reads different and we use them for comparison only.

Test the same car on the same dyno before and after, thats the only way.

I have Dyna pak hub dyno printouts with 2700Nm at the wheels from just over 400whp so there is no rhyme nor reason to it.

As far as 800 sounding high, on the dyno we use I can assure you it is a very low reading and it will be improved apon substantially.

I see... on the dyno we have at work we put in diff ratio`s that way there is a correction for everyting that is measured.

Asim...

Running it up in 5th it made aprox 5hp difference but the torque reading was lower which was as expected, I'm sure Sparks will post the graph shortly.
