I have had three 1JZs and one 2JZ. And one RB.

So, just to muddy the waters (add confusion) here is my tuppenceworth.

From my short experience, I am tempted to say that the RB costs more to tune... and is easier to break into the bargain. But this is only an initial impression. I have also had more compliments on the JZ: "a wonderful engine!" (from someone at Abbey MS), and I remember being told the sound of my engine on full song is fantastic.

By the same token, my Toyota mechanic in Japan was well impressed with the BNR34 after taking it for a spin and said he would take it over a Supra any day.
