smoke problems on R33/ should i upgrade anything?

HELP with my problems!!! blue smoke on start up. when turbo is boosting more smoke comes out. piping to and from intercooler has loads of oil in it. So i thought it was the turbo seals gone, got another turbo fitted and still blue smoke coming out. So it is not the turbo... anyone with any thoughts on the problem.. cheers... could it be rings? if so when i take the engine out should i upgrade any of the parts? gaskets, seals, pistons etc!!

Had the same problem and upgraded my turbo, because i tought it was my turbo seal too. Turned out to be a to small hose diameter coming from my cam cover to my catch can. ( ventilation problem , after mounting an oil catch can) Also a to high oil level , or blocked oil return from the turbo to the sump can cause this. Cranck case pressure can cause you're turbo seal to leak but this does not mean you're seal is dammaged .If there were no problems before than check these first. You could think of a turbo seal , valve seal , piston ring etc but check the simple things first and most likely you will solve you're problem.
I know I did.

cam cover breather

took the pipe of the cam cover. think it's the breather from the sump. put some revs on and nothing. so took it a wee run to see if there was any difference whilst under load. and oil came pouring out. so there must be pressure in the sump. not good.... is there any breather's that would cause this? or does it have to be rings!!!!

instal a catch can with minimal 3/4 inch hose from the cam cover to the catch can.I personaly did route my pcv valve also to my catch can.I had no problem since. After a few hard pulls there should be some oil in the catch can but that normal.Be shure you use min 3/4 inch diameter hose to the can.
