He did at first but he's upgraded now.
The problem with this comparison is that the 2JZ's image has been boosted up by dumbasses who think a stock Esprit gearbox can reliably handle 500rwhp. Maybe the 2JZ is slightly better as stock but it won't
reliably handle the 1000rwhp boasted on some forums, not in the British definition of the word 'reliably' anyway.
The
foreign definition of 'reliable' can amount to it holding together for a couple of dyno runs or quarters. The same people run ceramic turbos at 1.4-1.6bar.
