Probably.

Better than that, depending on how much personal info you know about him, getting a female mate to phone him late at night and dropping him in the shit with his missus is sure to go down well

As long as your new employers are happy they've got the right man and you're looking forward to the job then that's all that matters.

Look back on the job you've just left, the skills you've learnt, the contacts you've made, and the way you handled your departure. All of these things are positive and will add to your personality
A good reference means less than nothing these days. It could just mean they wanted rid of you very badly.

You say that but I know a chap who recently lost a job offer on the back of a poor reference - from an employer who didn't want him to leave and was being bitchy...

Walk out with your head held high...seems all good to me.

It is ilegal to give a bad reference, an employer can refuse to give a good reference and give a reason, but if they give a bad reference they get sued and loose. Simple as that don't worry, or kick ass.

If you do get hit by a black belt in kung foo at least they can't compete anymore! I know a champion kick boxer who keeps getting hit because he can't risk getting caught using his stuff, how crazy is that!

Ah well it's all done and dusted. Started the new job last Monday and absolutely love it My old boss had a sour moment on my last day at the old place and really let himself down by making some snide insults that were, frankly, unnecessary. I didn't always see eye-to-eye with him but I always respected him, and I thought he was above that sort of stuff. Ah well I guess you can take a measure of an indvidual by how they treat people that they have no need to treat well. I was leaving, had done the tidy-up work that they wanted doing so I guess he felt like I was fair game. Sad, really.

Anyway... I'm now in my new job with a nice pay rise, more holidays, fewer hours, totally flexible working hours, no sh1tty admin or stupid dogsbody tasks, my own office, and most importantly the support and resources to really develop myself and my professional strengths. Despite his sillyar5e antics on that last day I'll always be thankful to them as despite my grumbles they trained me and taught me just about everything that I'm now using in my new job.

They got their money's worth out of me and I got alot out of them. All balances out, I guess

Jim,
Go down the supermarket and buy some kippers, the natty ones in the poly bag complete with the knob of butter.

Open the bag, and chop the kippers into bite sized chunks, and pop them in the freezer.

Once a week, mail a chunk to an unkown address with the 'Senders' details on the back.

Oh, and congratulations on your new job, sounds like a nice move.

So in short you can do the following:

1) Keep the GTR
2) Keep the GTR
3) Spend more time entertaining us with your hilarious rants
4) Keep the GTR

Are we all in agreement?
