The arival date of my gtr is greeping nearer and i need to get a alarm put on it straight away. After many days pouring through mags and websites ive just ended up geting a mangled brain! Can any one give me a clue on which alarm to go for and some prices for them and what they do? ive heard about alarms which works around turbo timers! anybody know anything about them?

A lot of people on here have Toad alarms (the Ai606 mostly), these are very good and reliable. I fit these on a regular basis. The downside to these is there not so well spec'd, compared to a Clifford (Concept 650).
The clifford has a built in turbo timer, black jaxx (anti hijack feature), total closure etc. I haven't fitted one of these yet but my friend has one on his evo 4 and swears by it. Your talkin good money for either of these but they're CAT1 so should bring down your insurance anyway. Pearsonally i like the toad's but i am bias, hope this helps.

Hi mate i am professional Vehicle security engineer and the alarm i would reccomend to you would be the Toad Ai606 cat one system, user friendly never go wrong unless installed incorrectly and very good value at around 250-285 fitted and they come with life time warranty and they dont lose the key fob codes like cliffords.
