if you can do something that brings the interior out of the eighties you will take away my last reason for not liking the R32's Simon

I rather fancy the interior of the R32, think it's the best of the RB26 lot - the R35 is far too high tech for the R32 to stand next to.
But I do wonder - what sort of things could be done to update the interior? alcantra on the dash? some sort of placement for an LCD? |

using Stitch welding, and spot welding is different. Im no expert, but ive seen many other cars including a Nismo prep Chassis, and it didnt look much different.
Infact there were more welds on it than my car has. Yes the interior will get a little work too, just not sure how much yet. I THINK (not sure) the reason you stitch weld 1 on 2 off, or some people say 1on 1off, is for panel warping, also, depending on the type of welding stitch welding is easier to fix if you ever crash and need to fix panels its easier to pull and shape a stitch welded panel. Anyway, i trust Techno first, im sure they know what they are doing. Like i said before, everyone has their own way of doing things, when i get to drive the Z-tune again ill see if i can take a few shots of how Nismo went about doing their welding. i love the R32, dont care about interiors that much because you dont sit in a car like a GTR and say, wow nice interior, at least the way I think personally, if i had to sit on a milk crate, yeah then i might get a bit annoyed, but stock as it is, its pretty focused for what Nissan wanted the car to do.But yes, since its a project, you cant leave it out of the look, wouldnt be fair to the car We are working on it. Im sure it will turn out, very interesting. |

man, now that's what I call a ground up restoration - now build it into a monster that'll put your Z-tune to shame!
I would LOVE to start with a bare, ultra-clean shell like that, and a huge pile of shiny new parts, and build an R32 like that, having done every hose and bolt. Well, I guess someday I'll get a stripped shell, or my own car, which I will literally take to the grave with me, will require a 100 point restoration at some point. |

I'll take the crank on the right please
![]() and yep, the conventional wisdom is that the earlier the block, the better. Recent N1 blocks have had problems reported in Japan, and R33/R34 blocks sometimes are porous. |
