Great build, keep those pics coming Question though, why the mix and match with the Trust crank and HKS rods and pistons? The HKS step 2 and step 3 cranks are rated at 800hp and 1200hp repectively, so why use the Trust crank, there must be an advantage i assume?

hks dont make the step 3 cranks anymore (new), and the trust one i got, was 98% new and in stock with Endless-r, it was used for some ridiculously low miles (like less that 100km) , and so i figured may as well upgrade, and i get a better crank over all, vs the cast hks one i was going to go with. Win, Win.

not too worried about it, MY target HP is only around 500ish (If i left it up to the Endless-R guys i think id be too scared to drive it when i get it), and that is way WAY below the top ratings of any of the internal parts. Building for response and reliability, not high HP number, i dont drag race on any type of a serious level so i dont care much for super high numbers, id rather tune for high torque that comes on fast, than wait for top end hp

with that kind of detail and workmanship, I'll bet the farm you'd get years of reliability at 500bhp out of new oem parts!!

2.8l stroker...uh, GT-SS turbos? right in the target range at 500bhp, and you'll have about as much lag as my wife smacking me senseless when I check out some hottie at the mall

Currently there are no "like" step 3 kits in production from the following makers HKS, Apexi and Trust.

We used Trust crank as it was one of the last made by trust, and is like day and night from the HKS step 1 crank that was chosen. This type of trust crank is very high quality and good for 1000hp and 9500rpm

HKS pistons are nickel coated, so are harder than the trust pistons, and weigh the same. and are good for 1000hp

Trust H Beam rods are rated to 1000hp

Rain will have a very capable engine, and will be over tuned for what he needs it to be.

Going to be a great R32, hope to add it to the other endless thread

Thanks for those replies, certainly makes sense now Don't want to go off topic but i am surprised that HKS don't make the step 3 crank any more, i noticed the other day that both RHD and Negnum are still selling the step 3 kit complete, is this old stock or is it that you can only get the crank if you buy the whole kit?

i didnt know that either (until i was told), as i thought they are still being sold, so im gonna guess its old stock, just step 3 parts dont run out the door that fast, could be why they stopped making them ?

oh well.

Big update

Woke up to a huge update, the guys over at Endless-R have been busy!

I always wondered what the difference between stock water pump and the N1 was, well, here we are.

The head is FINALLY! finished, so much polishing and work went in to this, its crazy! Upgraded with nice new Trust valve springs.

So to go with my new larger oil pan, extended pickup line.

The engines coming together oil pan is on, lets keep going.

Installing the cams we are using for this build,

A set of HKS 272 cams, since this is not a full out race car, it has to be streetable so nothing too crazy, but its an all round package.

Nice new set of Trust cam gears being put on by what looks like a team of surgeons

Making sure everything id dialed up and perfect! so we can move on.

And slowly it takes shape; for those interested, Trust T571z turbos (I specifically wanted low mounts) coupled to Endless-Rs own tubular manifolds. These are made with thicker Stainless pipes, so cracking should not be a problem.

The heart of the beast, slowly being lowered in.

Still not done, gotta add some more sugar to the pudding.

Next stop for Endless-R, lets get that transmission upgrade going. more on that later.

I love builds like this....virtually pornographic

May I ask why you specifically wanted low mounts?

well personally, i knew that my power goals were low enough to keep the "stock" look of the engine bay which i like very much, the T571z offered me more than enough power and should be a very nice smooth power curve, simple answer
