32 GTR Stereo fitting help!

Hi all

I got a nice Alpine head unit for christmas and im about to get it fitted.

I was wondering about the wiring to the unit itself. I was a bit worried about it being a universal fit or would i need an adaptor to fit it, and are they readily available to buy? Has anyone fitted a head unit themslelves to their 32?

All advice appreciated
Cheers, Dean j

Dean, has the car already got an aftermarket head unit in it? if so, chaces it'll have an ISO adaptor on there.

Hi mook. Its got a japanese stereo in it. I think its a JVC thing. Deffo aftermarket, but still japanese mate. I was wondering this myself, but i reckon the japanese ICE market might cater for japanese vehicles, and the european arm of JVC use iso connectors for us lot, if you know what i mean

Hows that Metro mate?

I see your bro's got the car up for sale. Bloody shame as its a nice car.

I thought that the audio connector for a Nissan Micra works? I think that's what I used on my R32.... Got it from Halfrauds for a few beer tokens.

Thanks for all your input, but now i've got another question.

The stereos fitted now, but all i gotta do is fit the speakers. I havent even looked how to do it, but im thinking the speaker grilles just pop off back and front. Am i right before i break em off or does the doorcard and shelf have to come out?

Cheers

Dean j
