Clifford got wet!

Guy's my Clifford 650 alarm system appears to have got wet! looks like a grommet fell out.. Basically the light started flashing on the wya home in heavy rain.. then when I stopped I couldnt arm it.. The next day I went out and armed it successfully then a couple of hours later the alarm started going off for no reason and I couldn't get it to go into valet mode or anything! So I locked up with out arming it and I think it has settled for now as I drowned it in WD40 to disperse the water.. Does anyone know if you can totally turn the alarm system off incase it starts playing up again?
Are they safe to unplug and remove so I can dry t out and relocate it? Will the car be immobilised if I unplug the main unit? or is this hard wired to the car and not possible to remove anyway? Also if I unplug it wil it loose any settings or will it just go back to how it was when I plug it back in.

Thank you
Lee
