RB Motorsport Built OSG RB30 R34 GTR possibly for sale

All

Testing the water.

After 15 months of ownership and having got the car to how I wanted it the lure of an R35 is proving too strong.

My car was previously well know as belonging to COSSYCAM who spent in excess of £ 50,000 turning the car into a very serious fast road / track day car.

I on the other hand was looking for a reliable, quick yet relatively civilised daily driver and the car represented a good solid base to start from.

In the months following my purchase of the car (Autumn 2006) it underwent quite a transformation. The car was treated to fresh Signal Red paint (all panels bar the roof) after any blemishes found on the bodywork had been rectified.

The previous OS sequential gearbox was replaced with a BRAND NEW Getrag 6 speed box (£ 3,700 fitted), the Trust Evo Power exhaust (VERY VERY LOUD) was replaced with a much more civilised Trust Power Extreme 2 Exhaust System and decat (much quieter), a large Trust radiator was fitted, the Power FC was remapped for driveability (1.4bar) and the car was gone over with a fine toothcomb by Rod Bell even down to new mats and steering wheel.

I collected the newly transformed car from RB Motorsport in early March 2007 after its winter pampering. All I can say is what a machine. As a road car you cannot match this cars useability and real world pace even though we have only released about 60% of the engines potential power. You just can't accelerate, corner or brake with the same level of confidence in any other road legal car (I would know as I have owned most brands of performance car over the last ten years).

The RB30 engine was built to a spec that would handle a four figure power output with upgraded turbos etc so at 1.4bar through GTRS's it isn't even breaking sweat.

The list of parts and upgrades reads as follows:

RB OSG RB30 Blueprinted bottom end,
RB ported, polished and port matched brand new head casting,
Valve guides and stem seals,
Tomei 280deg/10.8mm camshafts,
Tomei valve springs and retainers,
Uprated cam buckets,
OSG vernier camshaft pulleys,
OSG cambelt,
Nissan R34 crank sensor,
Brand new (fitted mid 2007) Getrag 6 speed H pattern gearbox,
HKS GT-RS turbos and actuators,
HKS balance pipe exhaust manifold,
HKS turbo elbows,
HKS full hardpipe kit,
Nismo Air Flow meters,
Apexi Power FC mapped by Rod Bell,
Apexi boost control kit,
HKS suction kit,
Trust 80mm downpipes,
OSG R3C triple plate clutch,
NISMO input shaft,
Tomei oil pump,
Nismo N1 water pump,
Nismo thermostat,
Trust sump extension,
Tomei sump baffles,
RBM front mounted 15 row oil cooler and braided lines,
Trust oil filter relocation kit,
Trust 710mm x 300mm x 135mm intercooler,
Mines carbon fibre cooling panel,
Trust Power EvoII decat exhaust system (since replaced),
RBM 50mm throttle bodies,
RBM modded plenum,
Nismo adjustable fuel pressure regulator,
RBM modded fuel rail,
Sard 1000cc injectors,
RBM Twin Tomei in tank fuel pumps and swirl pot,
RBM twin uprated fuel lines and filters,
OPTIMA RED TOP battery and uprated earth wiring,
Brembo 380mm / 8 piston caliper front brake conversion,
Nismo brake stopper,
NISMO silver LM GT4 9.5 x 19 alloys with flush centre caps,
275/30-19 tyres,
Pioneer MP3 CD head unit,
Laserline CAT 1 alarm/imobiliser,
Tracker Horizon,
Trust uprated radiator,
Bodywork repairs and respraying of nearly all body panels (subcontracted to A&M Motorbodies),
Skyline car mat set,
Replacement steering wheel,
Nismo gear knob,
Trust Power Extreme 2 Exhaust System,
De-cat pipe for above,
New windscreen,
Wheels refurbished and painted in high gloss black (Nismo 19 inch wheels).

There is much more but I can't type any more.

The car is due to go back into the body shop as some numpty wagon driver has caught the rear drivers quarter panel with his bumper and damaged the wheel arch. This will be repaired correctly (probable new rear quarter panel) as it is being paid for by the insurance.

The car has covered approx 21,000 miles since the RB30 was fitted (total mileage now 74K) and most of this has been added by myself in the last 10months as I have used the car as my daily driver. During my ownership the car has NEVER been on track, NEVER been drag raced in fact I have never even launched the car from a standing start.

Rod Bell can vouch for both the car and the manner in which I look after my cars. In summary the car has not missed a beat over the last 12,000 or so miles and has simply needed routine servicing by RB Motorsport. The last service was last month when the Brembo brake discs were fitted with new mounting straps and they also replaced one of the front wheel bearings.

I will add some images of the car later this evening.

Price wise - looking for £35K which considering the RB30, new Getrag, 380mm Brembo 8 pots, 19 inch refurbished Nismo GT4's, bodywork restoration etc is a bargain.

Could also consider P/X for something exotic or interesting but as I already have five other cars a cash sale would be preferred.

Cheers

OSG RB30 R34 GTR

All

Another member of the forum pm'd reference a reported incident that happened to my car shortly before I purchased it (thankfully this member had the sense to pm me to get the facts and not simply cr@p the thread).

To clear up any further mis-information from being added to this thread here is a copy of my reply:

With reference to the pulley issue - it is amazing what over exagerated cr@p gets spread on internet forums. The power steering pulley came detached from the crank pulley and punctured the radiator. This is not an uncommon thing on high reving RB26's. It caused absolutely NO DAMAGE other than to snap the auxiliary belt and puncture the radiator. A new pulley was fitted and I had a Trust high capacity radiator fitted.

I was fully aware of this minor issue before I purchased the car and as it was effectively non mechanical it wasn't an issue. The car also suffered a faulty cam angle sensor just before I purchased it (caused by lack of use as Cameron couldn't drive at the time).

These two items probably caused Cameron more hassle than you could believe with poeple spouting all sorts of rubbish about engine damage etc. Since the new pulley and sensor the car has done about 10,000 miles without so much as a hiccup.

I hope that this will put the matter accurately to bed.

Cheers

Nick

Lovely car, seen it a few times at RB's and seriously thought of buying it when cameron was selling it as its a beast of a car and cam put so much into it.

Good luck with the sale, one of the nicest 34's around

OS RB30 R34 GTR

MarkyMark

All the cars that you see in the pictures are (or were - I sold the Ultima at the end of last year before it killed me) actually mine.

The Exige is indeed a motorsport bodied S1 with a supercharged K20 Honda engine (278bhp and revs to 9,ooorpm). I bought it about 5 months ago after the guy I sold my stage 5 Cooper S (252bhp) to was telling me that he used to own one - so I bought one a week later.

The Corrado is actually a 4WD VR6 turbo that I had built a few years ago - she made 502 bhp @ 2bar (currently running 370bhp @ 1.4 bar). She is currently for sale but I am more than happy to keep it if it doesn't sell.

The Ultima was actually the orignal factory demonstrator (from 2000) which I owned until about 6 months ago. I had an all steel 6.7 litre small block chevy built for it (589bhp @ 6,700 rpm) and it was mental. A car weighing 1,070 kg that will step sideways at 150 mph when you give it full throttle is a hoot but will cost you a fortune in clean boxer shorts.

Also I have a 1982 MK1 Golf VR6 turbo (mid engined and RWD!!!!). I have had it since we started building it about 11 years ago. She puts out about 450bhp in a sub 1,000kg car with the wheelbase of a Micra and is shall we say "TRICKY" at the limit.

Nearly finished - 280bhp MTM Audi Q7 3.0Tdi S Line (wifes) plus my favourite........

A 50% share in a Gumpert Apollo Sport (I am involved with the UK importer and distributor - Racetech UK).

To finish off I have a 1971 Mini Cooper S (old "J" reg) which I have had since I was 20 and will be re shelling in about 5 years time with my eldest son (currently 10 years old). If he will help me rebuild it when he is 15 or so he can have it when he passes his test at 17.

Please note that I am not showing off but am mearly demonstrating that if you work your b@ollocks of for 20 years you can eventually afford cars that you dreamed of as a child.

Enjoy - and thanks guys for the comments.
