Because most Type R Hondas are aimed for drivers who participate in many track days where as the S2000 is an interpretation of a classic british sports, it is sunday, weather is great and you can drive vigorously and fast but not ultimately fast as you would on a track.
Plus the brakes on the S2000 do fade after several laps on larger tracks so there is always room for improvement on the brakes. |

Probably the same reason Brembo's are also standard on the Honda DC5 integras. Its meant to be "driven" by enthusiasts as has been said the standard brakes fade and warp pretty quick if pushed hard.

brakes on a dc5 arent up to scratch for what it is,
i borrowed neweras one the other day, great brakes, but i can imagine on a track they would start to fade quite quickly
