The F355 would be a better everyday car, but a Testarossa would be a cool car to own, but it has a V12 and is therefore much more expensive to run

I'd choose the Testarossa

no

the TR had far too high a centre of gravity to ever be a serious driver's car, more out of the same mould as a lambo than current ferraris, apparently

basically a pimpmobile....used to be my fave when i was a nipper, dropped out of contention with the more i learned

^^^ Its odd that you are saying it has a high center of gravity when a flat engine's purpose is to lower it!!!

It does make some beautiful noises though!

348: the switch gear is all Fiat, so expect it to break off in your hands. Handling is really the media getting carried away. It is better than most things of its time; it was just not up to par with the expected Ferrari handling.

456: be very careful. They might only be £30k now but they command £160k supercar running costs. eg The bonnet costs £12k alone. Servicing a Ferrari V12 is hellishly expensive. Something expensive is not very reliable either (clutch?)... search Pistonheads for further info.

There's a saying when buying a Ferrari: if you can't afford a £40k BMW, you can't afford a £20k Ferrari.

You can always make a carbonfiber/fiberglass hood, I think that a lot of parts will probably be cheaper to fabricate and perhaps be of better quality on those cars.

We had a 348 ts and a early F355.

The F355 was by far the better car!

With only 300hp on ts/tb's (later 320hp for gtb and gts) you should rather go for the 350Z.
We had just problems with the car... AC Control Unit failed twice and heated FULL without a chance to switch it off, quality was poor all over.

The F355 made no Problems during 7 years.

Keep in mind that you have to replace the timing belts all 2 years/20'000kms.

Beside the F355, the 328 is one of the "reliabel" Ferrais you can get for "small" money.

When the NSX was launched there were a lot of comparisons to the 348. and the NSX was the car that most journalists said they would go for. The Ferrari 348 wasn't a great car on its own. Shared its styling with the Testarossa and that was more of its claim to fame.

My all time favourite Ferrari design is a F355.

OK quick update, what about an 328 GTB Targa . . . Is it true you not need to remove the entire engine to change the oil filter . . . . found a nice black one for my mate for around 5.000.000Yen, somebody knows if its worth??? . . . . I actually think it looks awsome, some sexy retro italian whore and well it comes in black as well . . . . some body I not thrust told me once the 328 GTB is cheap in parts and servicing is easier then on a Nissan Micra???? Myth or is it really the most reliable Ferrari build before the Modena???

Thanks
