In case anyone is looking for accomodation, whenever I've stayed at Silverstone it's been at either the Green Man in Brackley Hatch (on the A43 very close to the circuit) or the Kings Head pub in Syresham, again very close to the circuit. The Green Man is a Chef and Brewer pub. co-located with a Premier Inn hotel which you can book at
Quality budget hotels - cheap rates - Premier Inn (search for Silverstone) - cost for a room is usually £63. The Kings Head is cheapest booked direct on 01280 850280 and is £65 per room including breakfast. Both are perfectly OK in my book - you can Google either and get plenty of reviews...
