I'm scared because a few minutes ago I had a very shocking conversation with a woman I'm working with in America.

"Lee we've had a lead come in from somebody in Egypt. What do I do?"

"Erm, you follow them up"

"But don't we have any policies about dealing with the Arabs?"

"What?"

"Well we're at war with the Arabs aren't we"



"No, you're at war with Iraq. In fact, technically the war is over and you're there on a peace-keeping mission. We're not at war with 'the Arabs' as there are many countries in the Middle East that we're all on good terms with"

"Yeah I know, just I wanted to be sure that we can sell our technology to them"

"Well why wouldn't we?"

"Well because it's good technology"

"Yeah, but it's not like we're selling guns and missiles is it? We're selling software"

"Yeah I suppose"

This came from a supposedly well-educated American woman. Frankly, if she's a typical example of the knowledge Americans have on world affairs, then the world is in more trouble than I thought.
