Another option would be to use the engine, gearbox and diffs from this car.

It has many parts available to turn it back into an R33

R33 GTR V-Spec - with R34 Engine / Gearbox etc

Cheers

It appears that my earlier description is still not clear to some, so here goes.

It is probably best that you give me a call and let me know what you are trying to build, I can then talk you through what will be required to finish.

As you know it's a VSpec II with the carbon bonnet, larger rear brakes and nicer black interior.

The car has Nismo rear subframe rubbers fitted and is also currently fitted with the following.

UK spec speedo that correctly manages the HICAS.

New Tein suspension

Big 150mm deep Trust intercooler

Apexi competition radiator

Remote 13 row oil cooler

Carbon doors

Twin in tank fuel pumps

Additional 8mm diameter return fuel line

Apexi Power FC ECU

AP 6pot calipers & Greddy 355mm brakes with Pagid Grey pads

R33 rear diff

R33 sump with Trust extension and R33 Front diff

Nismo Wheels.

The car also has Spare steel doors front and rear bumper and spare front splitter.

All of the above parts are in good condition and are not cheap to fit.

A guide price for the above as is £20K

Parts required to finish the car are a complete engine with exhaust less sump and also a gearbox.

I also have an OS Giken 5 speed gearbox available £1500.

Cheers

Hugh

I have a friend looking for a lightly modified R32 GTR.

I will consider a standard to lightly modified GTR as part exchange for my R34 GTR.

Thanks

Hugh

I'm unaware of this issue; how does the speedo manage the HICAS? What does that have anything to do with HICAS?

bonzelite,

The speed signal from the gearbox first makes it's way up to the instrument cluster and is then passed on to the various ECU's.

Most of the imported UK cars intercept this signal to put a frequency reducing signal into the system which allows the KPH speedo to read in MPH, however this means that the ECU for the rear wheel steering thinks the vehicle is travelling slower than in reality.

The speedo fitted to the car has been modified to show 11,000 RPM, correctly dispay MPH and have the odometer increment in miles.

Here is a picture of the instrument binnacle.

Cheers

Dropped the R34 VSpec II off at RB Motorsport today, so it can be seen there by appointment, if required.

I also noticed that the car has done 13500 miles not 12,000 as previously stated.

I have been offered an engine reconditioned by Abbey Motorsport and an R34 gearbox for £3500 or £4000 with standard turbos inlet manifold etc also includes a used but functioning clutch

The above will when fitted put the car back on the road.

Also available from the same source are the following items that will offer a different solution.

Full Apexi single turbo convertion kit. turbo is brand new £750

Rebuilt Nismo Engine £5000

Cheers

Still looking for offers in the region of £20K for this high spec car.

I am also still loking for a lightly modified R32 GTR that can also be taken in part exchange against this car.

Thanks

Hugh

Hugh, I think it might help your sale if you got an estimate for eg Abbey to get the car into a roadworthy state - I'd be afraid of taking on something like this without knowing, and worrying that there would be costs that I hadn't forseen.

So eg, Abbey would charge £x to get the car roadworthy with the rebuilt R34 engine and box, x with the NISMO etc.

I know that prospective buyers could do this themselves, and it'll depend on ultimate spec, but sometimes you need to temp the fish in before you hook them !

Just a thought - hope it helps.

Bernmc,

Thanks for your thoughts, I had assumed that any prospective buyer would find it easy to get a quote from RB Motorsport where the car is now located or from their favourite Tuner to prepare a spec to suit their needs.

One option to keep the price down might be to put a standard engine and box in the car.

There is a fully re-built engine and gearbox sitting at Abbey Motorsport for £4000 which could be fitted for a further £1000.

Assume £20k for the vehicle as is, would put it on the road for £25K which for a VSpecII with extremely low miles is quite a deal.

If that is still too expensive, take the car without the AP Racing brakes and save £1000, put back on the standard suspension and save some more money.

The carbon doors can be swapped back to standard and sold on for even more savings.

If you have any more thoughts please let me know

Cheers

Hugh

Still no offers in the ball park.

Get in touch and I can try and work out a deal.

I am also still interested in taking a good condition lightly modified R32 GTR in part exchange for my car.

Cheers
