Traffic Lights

Seriously, what is the god dam point in having Traffic Lights. Why would anyone want more traffic? That’s exactly what Traffic light cause, more traffic. There a worthless nuisance that do more damage that good.

Every time I see a set of Traffic lights not in action, there is NEVER any traffic nor any accidents. So why do they put them up everywhere?! They should just let people get on with it. Most people are intelligent enough to work out if they can proceed to where they want to go with out any risk of being hit by another car, they don’t need a set of Traffic lights to make that decision for them!

Another time that these traffic creators are a pain in the arse is when they put them up for pedestrians to use to stop traffic so they can cross our roads.

I aint being funny, but why the hell should people who cant drive have such power over the road? If they want to play with traffic and want to cross the road they should have enough guts to try and get across it without the need to stop cars at lights… its just selfish!

9 times out of 10 when I get stopped at the pedestrian crossings, the lights are red and there are no pedestrians in site. They crossed the road 5 minutes ago when there wasn’t any cars coming, but still decided to press the button to make the lights go red.

It really gets on my tit, sitting in traffic and these things aren’t helping anyone!!

People use the button on the traffic lights for many reasons some people aren't as lucky as you and own a car; Not being old enough to own a car, not being able to afford a car, being disabled and not having enough time to get across without getting hit by a car, looking after a disabled person and having to push them across the road (wheelchairs), people with children don't want to risk killing their kids by crossing the road when the reds aren't light (it only takes 1 carelss driver).

I agree with most of what you say but I just felt I had to say the above.

primarely its a GTR forum though.

traffic lights dont mind me as much, I just hate the ones that let 3 cars through and then 125 for the other side, or stupid placed ones.

great example for the latter is ashford. we all know that roundabouts are there to keep the traffic flowing, but why oh why do they have a set of traffic light right after the roundabout itself?!

You're right it is, but it's not for you to use as a vehicle to promote your own site. This forum has worked hard to become what it is and gather it's own own user base. Why should we let you leech that user base?

Im not really leeching the users of this forum or website.

As you have stated this part of the forum is for rants, I have provided rants.

People have commented on the rants I have provided and discussions have been created - which are what forums are for!!

I am in no way spamming the site, and if I was I could understand you being p*ssed. But im not, I just had a link in my signautre that the users of this forum may find of interest (as requested, this has now been removed).

People who enjoy ranting on this forum and enjoy reading rants, may find my site interesting. What is the big deal if they decide to have a look at my signature and then decide themselves to view my site?

I have done what you have requested and removed my rant website from my signature, and I have replaced it with my Blog (which is now getting some good traffic, because you have made a fuss out of my signature - thanks).

Now you have sent me a PM telling me that im not allowed any link in my signature to any site because its "against the rules". However I see that almost everyone in the forum has a link in there signature to an external website… you included - im confused!!

I imagine, with this post I will now get banned.
