Actually, it's not the autobox (w/ flappy paddles) from the IS250. Rather, it's the gearbox from the LS460 (8spd) and then fitted with a torque converter lock. This thing changes gear like mad.. not far off from the GT-Rs own shift times.

Yeah I was speaking to someone else this morning about it and was told about the 8-speed. That's good cause I've got the IS250 with the 6-speed auto/flappy and I'm not impressed.

The guy I spoke to yesterday was obviously a moron and didnt know about the car he was supposed to be test driving !!! LOL

Drove it last week and it`s a deception for the price tag. The car goes like hell and the gear box shifts quick. For normal peoples with no performance car experiences , this car gives you only the wow factor if you are like a Opel Corsa 1.2 driver suddenly put in to the old M3. . . . or something like that . .lol

I am allways keeping my eyes open for the limited IMPUL Nissan FUGA 5liter V8 with 385HP N/A , drove one a while back and it is defo more value and fun for the money, then the IS-F. The FUGA is maybe not that fast, a bit like the Jag. R-Type,but really for every day use the IS-F isn`t that faster either. I would even say that the Impul Fuga has more low end torque then the IS-F. . . .at the end the IS-F goes for 8.000.000Yen in japan and will not drop in price that dramaticly, probably for years . . . the FUGA cost streight from IMPUL 9.000.000Yen, but is allready availble on the used market with just 1year on the back for under 6.000.000Yen (and the IMPUL engine is hand build) . . . . then there is an other car that is unique and faster then both, it costs 7.800.000Yen and has a GTR badge . . . (thought no 4 doors . .ahh! , no ! that is for later probably)

By the way , 5-6 years ago I had the chance to drive the TTE proto concept version of the IS200 Altezza. The car had the 4.3 V8 with super charger from Toms, but modified to 420HP around by TTE, now that was a quick car, faster then the IS-F . . . . my mate specially bought an IS200 that time and waited to swap the engine by TTE . .in vain!!! He supercharged the 2.0 streight 6 from TTE later to 220HP and the story ended there . . . sad the IS-F is no competition for an E63 AMG, wich is a true beast . . .

I drove both the IS-F and the E63. The Benz has more power but it doesn't feel that much faster, probably due to the weight. Both great cars but in my experience both have traction problems
