Porsche 959 is certainly a supercar of it's time. The Veyron is the modern interpretation of it.

I could also point out that the F40 had quite a small engine but that would be silly.

I'd agree on the MacMerc though. The other are just more usable. Cars in general are more usable so why not supercars?
The first versions of the Diablo are RWD, mid engine with a big V12, looks good, made aload of noise and can kill the second you dont respect it. Sure they later on became civilised as Lambos could possibly be for the new-money showboating young men who wanted to flash their cash (particularly in the middle east)

The F40 is actually the ultimate evolution of the 308 mid engined V8, rwd car, which was a "supercar" in its day.

I have some knowledge of the evolution of the F40 from the GTO though the 308 is quite a different car to the GTO. The GTO is a Supercar though the 308 is an entry level car by your definition (much as the F430 is now). Personally I'd rather have a GTO than an F40 but I'd guess that I'm swimming against the tide on that one.

I'd still say that pretty much all cars are easier to drive nowadays. Zonda's can and are used as daily drivers (as much as anything like is). Peeople used to use F1s for daily usage too (as above) as Gordon Murray always points out when people try to suggest that anything is better than the F1.

Seriously, stop talking to me. If you dont like being exposed for being a bit clueless on certain subjects then keep your big mouth shut from me.
oh, ok. First of all, this thread was more or less hypothetical, and a source of enjoyment and speculation for the membership of this board until you butt in your ignorant faggot ass making blanket statements like "real supercar owners do not drive real supercars everyday" when evidence to the contrary (the daily driven Testarossa, the daily driven Veyron - oh, that's not a "proper supercar" just some engineering exercise as well??) has already been mentioned.

Prove to me that no supercar is used as a daily driver, as you originally claimed. Prove to this board's membership your statements. Either that, or shut the f*ck up. And no, playing around with the definition of "supercar" has not and will not get you out of this one. For many of us, a Skyline GT-R ***IS*** a supercar. A couple posts were made to that effect - that member's here feel their tuned (or to your bullshit point of view, "riced") Skylines ARE supercars, driven daily. Anything that runs 0-60 in under 4 seconds, 600+bhp, 11 second 1/4 miles, 180+ vmax....I would say you are in a significant minority to say that does not make a supercar. And only two kinds of people would say so - effete wealthy snobs who are obsessed with what badge is on their car, and pathetic skint losers trying to justify the fact that their life is utterly devoid of such high-performance machinery. Doesn't take much to see where YOU lie. Several of us here can easily afford a $200,000 supercar, however YOU may define it - and choose not to. Instead, they post here about their well-tuned Skylines (or riced? you racist narrowminded fudgepacking faggot). Put your money where your mouth is boy. You've called my car a ricemobile. Why don't you pick up the phone, call Tweenierob, and mention to him that the machines he builds and maps are ricemobiles. I'm sure he'd appreciate that.

I've no use for the likes of you. You have NO useful information whatsoever about Skylines, nor do you have anything to offer about the general world of high-performance sports cars. FFS, deriding a CLK-DTM as a mere homologation saloon? Have you driven one?? Honestly! You'd be blown away by it, and I doubt you'd be spouting "oh, that's not a proper supercar" after driving one. You'd be buzzing and shaking with adrenaline. Why? Because it is fecking quick, that's why.

Ignorance? It's pretty clear to anybody that it is yourself, dear 빙신 개세끼 썅놈, that is misinformed through inexperience. Which is fine, but when you start making pretentious judgements from that, it's not only pathetic, it's laughable.

Why do you even bother being here? You have your stock R33 and to you, that's perfection. Good for you, honestly. All the information you need can be had from a Nissan service manual and a good Nissan dealer. Go run along now with your stock power and boost and enjoy it. Virtually no thread here pertains to you or your situation really as you do not tune cars, or have any interest in doing so. It's not YOU that irritates me. It's the fact that you like to go around dropping shit on what are otherwise decent discussions about a world that is not a part of your everyday existence.

My boss's boss uses his 997 Turbo as his daily driver and his Gallardo Syder for when he wants to drive something special

Turn it up to 11. Although that's pretty quiet on my stereo, it goes up to 100.

ah, but according to Sidious the Car Expert, don't you know that 997 Turbos are NOT supercars (despite being able to outperform a 959)??

Oh the irony, calling someone racist whilst using all the classic homophobic language skills of a 'real man'.

No need for it.

Speed alone doth not maketh a car super. KTM crossbow? Fecking awful thing, Caterham CSR clown car.

No amount of foot stomping or shouting will turn a good car into a supercar, so calm down dear, it's too commercial

Point taken. Homophobic language isn't proper at all (and my apologies to gay/lesbian/bi members of this board). I'm just really sick of this to$$er calling me an azn ricer (which, being ethinicly Asian and furthermore the driver of a Japanese-made tuned car, lumps me into a VERY racist stereotype, at least from an American point of view) and slagging my car. Really, truly fed up with this jack-off.

About time to lock this thread. It was a good bit of fun until Sidious storms in and pisses on everyone's cornflakes.

old lady in a Reventon

proof positive - if this reporter can easily drive one of these around, one could daily drive one if they chose to do so. Oh, but that's not a REAL supercar Sidious?? Just some glorified GT car? Maybe it's too slow for you??

I really should stop Mr Sidious. Taking potshots at your ignorance is like shooting fish in a barrel. Not fair play at all.

Yeah, well, why not drive a daily supercar if you had the dosh.

But on another note, wouldn't it be like eating caviar everyday. It won't feel that special on a daily basis.
