400,000 yen is 2,000 GBP, so tyres/tires are 500 GBP (1,000 USD) a pop.

PS I also heard that it's 700,000 yen to change the brake pads... with Nissan's specially bedded-in ones. That's 3,500 squid...

i'll post the exact service costs for all the items soon. at the performance center they walked thru it all with me and on the doc is all the equivelant costs for porsche owners. the nissan parts are ALL more expensive than 911 parts... you're almost better off with aftermarket for everything as nissan is definitely looking to recoup their costs via parts.

No way are tyres that cheap! I paid more for my 19" RE-11's this week!
I distinctively remember one of the Nissan guys saying 100,000 Yen a tyre for the Bridgestones!

4 pads and 4-rotors (the whole lot) are the 400 and something thousand yen. Project µ have released their new pads for the R35, they cost around 45k for the fronts and 25k for the rear. Which is normal brake pad prices....
Tuners like Mine's are jumping on the "silly-price" bandwagon and charging 90k or 130k for the fronts (2 different specs) and 50k or 60k for the rears (again two specs).

So there are more and more options out there. More cheaper options will also come from the US I'm sure.

ah, you might be right about the tyres but bad news about the rotors... EACH one is Yen464,000. not joking. Each caliper is roughly Yen100,000. I've asked the performance centre to fax me the costs guide presentation that they run you thru when you go to pick up the car. stupidly i didn't ask for this at the time.

a mate of mine has a cayman S and came with me to collect the car. we were both shocked at the individual parts costs, they are very very extreme...

I just checked and the RE01R in the US is 270 each (USD). Not bad.

As for the R35, for the front you could get Pirelli PZero for 440 USD each
and for the rear 486 USD each. I know they are not run flats but it is a
cheaper alternative at the moment.
