Is anyone in the UK copying the Autech kit yet?

I want the Autech kit on my RS4 but, obviously, it's very hard to get an original one.

Is there anyone here with an Autech car would be willing to provide moulds from their kit to enable the production of replicas, or even variations on the original?

Not that I'm aware of. But Japsalon is now bringing kits in and may be able to get you an original

The quality of the original stagea kit wasnt that great but 'alot' of work went into the kit prior to moulding and more on the moulds getting them very flat and smooth the resultant moulded parts are amazing

First of all Martin you should be up front.
You are privately posting links to the website advertising the kits but somehow forget to mention its your site and company.

Anyway re these kits.

I know the kit you copied was badly damaged becuase it was my kit.

The agreement was that you agreed to repair it and paint it to a finished standard and in return I let you copy the kit and sell it.

You told me it would take 3 to 4 weeks to finish . After 6 or 7 weeks and many calls it was not done .You finally agreed to complete it in a further 2 .

Unfortunately at the last minute you realised you did not have the correct colour paint so I had to collect it not finished . The kit also came back with crazing it did not have when you were given the kit . Also the repairs were not finished as promised.

So I had to pay out over £600 getting the kit repaired and painted properly as you had not done this.
The guy that did it ( very well by the way) also said the repairs were such that he could not make decent moulds from my " repaired" kit

It is difficult therefore to see how they can be "amazing" and fit perfectly

''''sorry to post this on this thread'''

No brian i said id try and spray it for you 'if i can', the deal was we make them and you supply them that was the main reason for these moulds, the respray was nothing to do with the original deal.

I said the crazing was on the parts when you gave them to me and it was, could prove this by the moulds before they were flatted, knew you didnt believe me so whats the point, if the marks were moulded in the moulds they had to have had been there when the gelcoat was applied therefore were not caused by damage
releasing them, i already said this.
i did repair the kit and i spent ages repairing it before i moulded it as when i got it was just bits of glass stuck on it. it all had to be smoothed in and some of it reglassed which took over a week just to repair it, and as for the time i can only give a guide for the mould making as grp work is so different, those parts were complex with lots of returns and were difficult to mould,

These are amazing quality as i spent ages on the moulds the parts are as good as quality as any better than most id say. shame i cant post pics here, also i know there good as ive been working with grp for over 16 years now,

And you approached me with the kit in the first place i didnt ask you am still not sure it was a good idea.

its cost me coming on 2 grand for nothing at the moment! thats without any storage costs.

what am i supposed to do ive had the moulds sitting here for must be coming on 5-6 months now waiting for you to get some orders like you said you were and this was the real deal with these kits i was going to make em any you supply them, ive heard or seen nothing and ive even heard youve been telling people there no good even thou youve never seen the parts, so ive got to try and start shifting some myself.

Not sure what happened but if you want to contact me praps we could get soemething back on track, i got to do something with these bits brian

'I will get in touch with the mods on here regards advertising on the gtroc or if they read this could get in touch with me please regards the subs etc'

Why couldnt you just pm me regarding this, why you have to try discredit me, let people make there own mind up about our stagea parts ta, anyway the stagea kit is front bumper, rear bumper, side skirts, rear spoiler is available, spoiler comes with stainless steel fittings bonded in.

I have said nothing on any other forum where you are a trader about these kits as it is your business despite being way out of pocket .

But when you post on the gtroc is different because you are not a registered trader and you advertised them using private link without saying it was a trade post or that it was your site .
I did not pm you because you had already posted in the thread.

Yes I approached you about making the kits initially because I saw it as a way to get mine repaired . We will just have to agree to disagree about the deal we had.

I SAID THERE WOULD BE AN INTEREST IN THE KITS AND THERE IS . Actually I have had a fair few equiries about bodykits but people wont pay your prices . I have not attempted to sell any kits from another source indeed there is not one in the UK .

So to sum up you have the only set of moulds in the UK . You are also the only person advertising them . You have set the price and the quality is amazing and there is a demand.
But youve not sold any .......... what does that say.

This will be my last post about this. If you want further discussions pm me.

erm you started posting on here brian,

you didnt tell the guy from birmingham by phone our kit didnt fit then?? i wouldnt mind but i hadnt even finished it by then wtf...
??, lets just leave it as hear say but if you have been saying stuff just stop it please until you know the quality of the parts yourself which you dont, and hmmm why do you not want to post on this thread again??

I will talk to the mods about advertising on here, i have spoken to one of the mods at one of the meets last year,

These parts are fairly priced and generally 'not there fault' but customers
know very little regarding the time and work that goes in to producing a fibreglass part from start to finish, comparrisons can only be made to overseas parts which is a different ball game with extremely low labour rates, grp is a tough game, always will be, anyway you seemed okay with the prices when i told you,eh come to think of it you knew the prices roughly before i made the moulds i should be the one pi88ed off here..

Iam only just starting to advertise the stagea parts as i was being fair and waiting for you to start getting some orders which obviously your having trouble, Its not the price thats to high its most probs the value for money thats not been built high enough mate.. i will sell them. If you have any old enquiries pass them this way i may be able to do something with them.

This threads probably ailienated me from anyone from here now anyway, ta

sorry to have this post on the forum i know its for owners to have fun at the end of the day, it should have all been done by pm's

Contact me if you want it doesnt bother me either way, i did my part

over and out.

I spoke to you at a meeting last year about advertising in the magazine and/or as a banner ad for the GTR Register. You said categorically that you would do it and asked me to send you some information. I sent several emails and even left you complimentary copies of the Club's magazines for you to look at. You have never responded to any emails nor made any attempt to follow up yourself post our discussion last year.

Im just being honest but at the time i felt the ad selling was a bit full on and pressurised and i did only recieve one email in my inbox, not sure if any had been lost, i would have gone with it as said as i know this is one of the biggest skyline clubs but when i worked out the fees it was a bit more than i could run with, im not saying it wasnt worth it its just i couldnt afford it at the time, i wouldnt have wanted to waste anyones time, sorry if i did.

I would like to discuss at least the club magazine now and if poss the forum and banner options, do i still contact madsteve?

thank you
