Question Best Single DIN Head unit

I am looking for a top of the line head unit with HD storage for MP3.

Who do you think makes the best unit?

They're brilliant until they break lol

Not much point going for top-end head unit if you'll be playing mostly MP3s - its a waste of money

Got to agree....A bit pointless.

I run a Pioneer P9r and a USB interface with a 80g hard drive.....But I keep the songs at full size

I found Clarions to sound the nicest - a sort of warm top-end without losing any detail

I like to have my music loud so the treble needs to be perfect otherwise my ears hurt

There is no "best" its entirely down to the kind of sound you prefer
Unless you're talking Alpine F1 stuff as that really is some of the best

Personally I love Alpine. Build quality and sound quality is awesome and never had a problem with any of the units i've had in the past.

Got a JVC one at the minute though which is on loan from a mate

Some of the old JVCs from about 2 years ago were very good, I had the SH909 for a while before I got the Clarion

I just got the Alpine IDA-X100 into which you can plug an iPod or USB hard drive or thumb drive. Will be installing at the weekend so I'll let you know what its like.
