F1 Simulator

How good would these be!
F1 SIMULATOR

I've only ever had the chance to get in one when the Renault F1 team were doing a showroom down at my beach last summer, great fun!

they're ace. was in one a few years ago, on the autoRAI in holland. think it was a 5-6 day event, i went on the last day, done the last session before they packed in. they were basically giving away model car prizes to the winner of every session (they done a new session every 2-3 hours orso). I got the quickest, but also the quickest of everyone who has been for the whole week. so they gave me another model car.

not very impressive.

I've ridden and played in way better simulators.

One for example is the one in Las Vegas...Sahara Hotel.

They have Simulators from F1, Nascar, Indy cars, and other stuff I don't remember. You actually get real gauges, the car itself actually rolls with the active suspension adjustment. It feels so real..I was really afraid to full throttle it

Was at a lecture given by Christian Horner last night and they use these a lot, as do all of the cars. Whilst he admits some of the stuff you do on track can't be replaced by simulators he did say that every year his drivers doe 100,000 miles+ on these things and Lewis Hamilton is known for being one of the most ardent users and reckons he clocked up over 100,000 miles in simulators last year

These simulators are always used by real racing drivers, and scrutinised and tweaked by people in the racing field, not computer geeks as you would find in Gran turismo/Forza etc

I've tried it out at a Williams Christmas Dinner event. It's kinda cool actually, although they made it Auto (for the event) and put it on some track I'd never seen or heard of before (Toban I think it was.)

Lol, fortunitly I got to be in a Renault at Silverstone F1 Circuit but yea it was Auto for us aswell. The only different with the one I went in compared to the link I posted above is the one I had a go of was a full size one.

Yeah, probably the same one my butt graced! It seemed a bit of a 'loose' simulator though, too easy to get in and out of, of course that's for enabling the masses to get in and out of it.
