I'm sorry to say that my car is now up for sale.
I've been using this forum for a number of years and I deliberately put off buying an R32 GTR for a long time while I put money into a few investments instead. In January last year I finally thought, "Sod it, stop killing yourself" and I started my search for a nice R32. In March last year I found it. I have enjoyed the car immensely in the last year, but I think the timing was wrong when I bought it and frankly I've never had enough spare cash to enjoy the car to the full. I've had lots of outgoings in the last year and this has meant I've to be careful about how much I'm spending on fuel. Not good when you own a car that does <20 mpg!! I've probably only clocked up around 3000 miles since I bought it. So I'm selling the car because I want loads of free cash to enjoy my summer. I am also trying to put a deposit down for a bigger place so just cannot do that whilst owning a GTR. Its fair to say I've had a few problems with the car in the last few months but these are fixed and a brief timeline outlined here: *November 2007, turbo broke and blades got into cylinders. Engine wrecked. *December 2007, 25k R34 GTR engine and tubbies sourced and fitted *2 days later, R34 engine spun 2 bearings and seller took it back to rebuild. *January 2007, engine bottom end rebuild to good spec, car back. You can read my past threads about these issues for re-assurance that they are fixed. So the spec of the car is as follows: Engine specs: 25,000 mile engine, bottom end rebuild 500 miles ago -ACL bearings -Tomei 1.2mm head gasket -Tomei oil restrictor -Polished crank -New conrods -N1 oil pump -NGK spark plugs -Spitfire coil packs Induction and exhaust: -R34 standard turbos (ball bearing - they spool very quickly) -Power Enterprise induction kit -Downpipes -Decat -3" Janspeed exhaust system (sounds lovely, not too loud!) Engine bay: -HKS fuel rail -Braided fuel lines -Sard fuel pressure reg. -Samco breather hoses -Greddy & Nismo silicon radiator and intercooler joint hoses -HKS gold earthing kit -Nismo hard pipe intercooler kit -Blitz BOVs -New battery Suspension, Brakes & Transmission: -OS Giken twin plate clutch -Tein suspension all round (not sure which spec) -Std gearbox with Redline heavy duty oil -Std brakes with Ferodo 2500s all round -Front and rear strut braces Exterior & Interior: -18" x 9.5" Rota Ultralite wheels in white -Nismo bodykit -N1 bumper vents -Rear window tint -Nismo sunvisor -Wind deflectors -Alpine head unit -Cobra alarm system -HKS turbo timer -Nismo gearknob -Nismo handbrake handle (I hate the bloody thing!) -Blitz SBC-iD boost controller -Private GTR number plate - it's a good'n I am having the car dyno'd next week and expect an easy 400bhp at 1.0 bar. The turbos are simply awesome and spool quicker than you can say "bloody hell!" I consider this to be the perfect road going Stage 1 GTR spec because the car is very responsive, stops quickly and is fairly easy to drive around town. I took this car to Bruntingthorpe last summer for the charity day (on the old engine) and it performed brilliantly. I was even quicker through the chicane than some of the Elises there according to my passengers. A lot of this will come down to the stiff Tein suspension. However I did find that the std brakes aren't up to track work and they overheated after about 10 hard laps. If you want a track car, then you'd definitely need to upgrade the brakes on this first. This is something I sadly couldn't afford to do. But as I said, I consider it to be a perfect road going spec. It has a low mileage engine that, with the bottom end mods, could take some HKS 2530s very easily. The shell is in good condition and the chassis has covered approx. 80,000 miles. I have documents to prove. I also have every single receipt and bill for the works done on this car since it was imported in 2005 The first owner was a GTROC member and spend ££££s getting the car serviced and brought up to UK spec. All work done by Abbey. The second owner put many of the body mods you see on the car today. He also had the OS Giken clutch fitted at RB Motorsport. I am the third UK owner. I have replaced spark plugs, coil packs, had the sills restructured and undersealed, and have had the new engine fitted. There are a couple of niggly bits which I intend to sort out before the car sells. There are a few rust bubbles on the rear arches and lacquer is coming off the passenger wing mirror. I will get the car into a body shop to get this all fixed. I am also experiencing some slight overboost (1.1 - 1.2 bar) with the R34 turbos due to the wastegates being too small. The recommended and simple fix is to put a restrictor in the downpipe to give back pressure. This is what Abbey do with R34s that have decats and downpipes fitted. I have another tuner doing this next week. So here are some pictures. I'll get some updated pics of the engine bay up at the weekend. This car turns heads wherever you go. You can always take off the door stacks if you want so I'd rather not get any negative comments about those After the mechanic rebuilt and fitted the engine again, he told the old owner of the engine for a drive in my car. Apparently the guy couldn't believe how much quicker the engine was in my R32, than in his R34. The mechanic, John, also told me that it's the smoothest GTR he's driven. Aside from the twin plate clutch of course! This is not an average gunmetal grey recent cheap Jap import with no history at £5000.... nor is it a 600bhp track weapon at £12,000. The price I'm looking for is £8,500 ono The car can be viewed at weekends and I am located in Witney, Oxfordshire just off the A40. Feel free to ask my any questions on the car in this thread, or PM me for private enquiries. Thanks for looking, Lee |

I see - the location. To quote Roy Walker, "it's good, but it's not right", LOL
I'd rather not say who I work for but that I sell a high end software licensing and copy protection service. If you're interested in that then let me know ![]() |

Update
I had the car at Thor today to sort the overboost problem and get the car on the Dynapack.
The car will now hold 1 bar all day long and we've raised the gain on the boost controller to allow the turbos to spool much faster. I now see 1 bar at 4k rpm, and there is room to increase the gain and bring the turbos in even quicker. I consider the set up to be 'safe' right now but the new owner may wish to play around with the settings further. The car made 300bhp at the wheels at 1 bar. I'm pleased with that and as I said, there is room for a little more. I gave the car a wash and polish today and as always, it came out really well. A few interior shots: ...and my favourite: My contact number is 07888 702058. Feel free to call anytime and i'm not interested in talking to canvassers ![]() |

Thanks for the comments moffett. I think the pricing is fair considering the condition of the car and the safe, low mileage engine. Plus it's ready to tune up to 600bhp without any internal work needing doing.
I also have an early R32 block that I can include with the sale if anybody is interested. |
