ive read mostly all of the posts in this thread and have found it totally inteesting. I love these debates as it really gets people thinking and it has done just that to me. I love the GT-r's (full stop)! i think that they have been a motoring phenomenon throughout the years BUT.....yes theres a but, they are limited, the whole 4wd, limited stock power, reliability issues all worry me sometimes.
Im trying not to just slag a car here but i want my opinion out. I have a Mk 4 Supra, stock bottom end, last dyno 698hp at the rear wheels. And i know a lot of people would reckon that the 4wd of the gtr is better but i have the geometry set up so well (i believe) that i dont think any 4wd performance car could leave it, even the GTR 35! with the saem driver on same conditions. my car has done a 7:40 around the ring, (which i know isnt the be all and end all but its a good judge of a cars performance).
I believe that Toyota simply got it all right with the JZ engines as they, time and time again imbarass the most holy of holy cars around where i live.
This may all be bulshit but just my 2pence, the local 997 turbo nearly ost his log book last week when he thought he could take the supra, only good nature give him it back!!
