the Veilside 350Z kit is pretty tasty - it's just that their "combat" front bumpers are just too much.

XS Engineering in the States runs an R32 with the Veilside widebody kit (but thankfully with the stock front and rear!!!) and it's a pretty nice looking car. I've seen the R33 widebody and it is HUGE. Like, the size of a minivan

GTRLux, definitely buy what your heart wants, that's the whole purpose of cars and the passion of being a motorhead.

For me though, no trim on my R32, and a "student driver" sign on the back, and I'm ready to head out and cruise the streets, to pick a race with some exotic...

I can buy 3 EVOXs or 10EVOs from Evo1 to 10 here in japan for the price of the new GTR . . .

Let's say I need something more visual then a GTR, for my buisness . . . no need to waist money on Lambos&co, if I can have the same visual impact for 1/10 of the price. and 600HP for still 2/10 of the super car price

If you have that much to spend. By a new GTR and get you own kit designed as a one off specially for it, complete with a new paint, maybe Bayside Blue or something?

gtrlux,

I can only speak for the examples we've had, not for others I've never seen. One of the Fortune RX-7's we've sold was the very same car that won the TAS 2005 Grand prize - and was recently featured in Japanese Performance magazine. The other is pictured below (Also sold to a collector).

And yes, the blue one you show at the beginning of the thread was the very first Fortune RX-7 built - which you're correct in saying, was the car Newera were commissioned by ADDX magazine to ship to and from the Paris tuning show a few years back.

Hi Miguel

Many thanks for the pics . . .. the finish looks stunning, considering from what type of raw material the kit is created.

So what do you think of the general quality of the kit? I mean regarding fittement (which can be corrected), and edge-surface quality. The one I saw in Nagoya had some body waves on the door rear section arches. Something you won`t have on a production car body, The paint was shit, but that wasn`t the main issue regarding the waves (like that plastic section was a bit melt under sun . .lol)
If I order the kit I will request some custome works on it anyway, . . . is it still the boss from Veilside himself who produces the parts at night shifts.?

Anyway thanks for the input . . . the kit polarizes as much as before . .lol

@Fuggles, you are right, but the full price of the completed body on a 1.000.000Yen base RX7 would be about 2.100.000Yen , without wheels and footwork. 3.200.000Yen is still far from the R35 price, even for that price tag I won`t get a standard quality R34GTR.
@Kisme . .love the "student driver " sticker

gtrlux,

My advice: Don't fit a bodykit at all. The RX-7 is beautiful enough without need for one. Spend the money on well chosen tuning parts and enjoy the car a lot more. If you come to Tokyo, I'll be happy to take you out in my mad 7

As for the girl, I'll see if I can dig out some more. DCD probably has a fair few shots of her - She was last year's leading D1 racequeen, but has now quit, to work as a TV presenter...

Here's a few more pics.

RX-7's don't need a wide bodykit - Just a bit of discreet carbon's enough

& that girl...

..Belly dances pretty well too.

Hi Miguel thanks again for the updated pics

I agree and love the timeless shape of the FDs very much. One of the cars I defo want to have (unmodified) in my garage some day is one of the 1500 Spirit Rs. The Fortune is a complete other matter. I am an artist in first place (the kind of people who draw paintings and design things nobody needs, but likes to look at . . lol ), then my profession is 2D animation director . . . which is the complete oposite of the regular petrol head.
I need the Fortune to satisfy my eyes and design lust.

Then until the budget allows my self to own a track-only performance car, I not really need a more powerfull car then an RX7 , in every day japan-Aichi-ken traffic mayhem . . .

A similar white one's almost finished in the UK right now.... Maybe take a look at it when the new MRC website is up and see what you think.

Perhaps the modifications you're thinking of to the rear vents are better in dream than reality - They'd be hellishly difficult to keep clean
Also you'd need some serious spacers to run wheels with smallish dish like that on the Fortune RX-7... Recommended rear wheel fitment from Veilside is: 19 x 12J ET - 34 !!! (That's a "-" not a "+" !!)

How much is the Veilside kit? I think gun metal would look cool. Or maybe a complete black theme, including wheels etc?

OK thanks will looks out for the MRC site.
For the vents I just did a quick photoshop, . . . the ones I drew, are bit too Batmobile . .lol . Amuse did a hell of a job producing black vent grills that fit the 350Z Super leggera kit. The black vent covers look really prodcution, on the amuse Fairlady . . . .thought about something similar. Anyway nothing decided yet, still have an other car option in my head . . .

Thanks for the input.

PS: Just tell everyone here, Miguel, that the girl is single an dloves to have a GTR owner as boyfriend . . .
