Veilside RX7 vs crap finish vs Lambo vs Me vs my wallet (Newera help) or Vin Diesel!

OK to make it short:

Was planning since a while now to head up to Tokyo for Veilside , in order to take a final look at the Fortune kitted RX7 and NSX.
Lucky I found out that Veilside now has a shop in Nagoya too, with a demo car for sale, so went there this afternoon . . .

Didn't bring my camera thought but the car I am talking about is the same as in this picture:

I love the Veilside stuff and was shocked to see how bad this Fortune RX7 was fitted and painted, they want a 6.500.000Yen for the car, well the base was/is a crapy early FD and the waste gate seemed to be gone, as well as the garret turbine . . . anyway, the paint job and kit material looked so crap, I felt like sitting in a plastic tea cup at Tokyo Disneylands "The beauty and the Beast game", this is really crap!!! Despite the fact that the kit wasn't really fitting around the bonnet section, the cars color choice is horrible, . . . I mean I could have done it better with some homecenter spray. The Interior looked OK(complete red leather retrim) but shit for the price tag too . .I mean Robson would do it better and cheaper . . .

Anyway now comes the big question!! The guy at the shop told me the kit would cost around 1.300.000Yen and complete fitted to my base RX7 (if I would have one) would come around 2.000.000Yen! . . . choosing a better color (metal for instance) and no tolerance for the fittement this would give you a massive car for only the price of a GolfV GTI . . lol

At the end there was a guy with a yellow Diabolo, the Fortune RX7 next to it and the Lambo disapears . . . then for the Interior the Veilside wins hands down anyway . . . now even performance wise , every body knows what a 500HP+ RX7 can do, . . . .

I came accross some nice early FDs at some reputed ROTARYshop for 1.000.000Yen , so actually for 3.500.000Yen I could drive a massive unique car, wich is a bargain . .supercar looks start usually at 100.000$

So please Miguel , as you have experiences with the fortune RX7s , let me know your opinion about the genaral quality of the kit and tell me this crap exemple was an exception! I remember this picture from you and this looks by far more quality then the one today . .

Advice needed

Cheers

Chris

Personally i believe that the only place for a Veilside kit is in the bin, i`ve yet to see one that i like and they are rediculously expensive.

I've seen some Veilside kits that I like, and some I dislike. I tend to like stuff from CWest more, as my main complaint with Veilside is that they seem to be "fussy" looking, particularly around the front bumper.

Personally I'd be looking at a widebody NSX, but thats a more expensive car to begin with.

Ultimately, go with what you like.

go with what you like, veilside isnt everyones cup of tea, i quite like the FD3S they did.

i think you have to remember that the ones we had in stock (as they are both sold now) one going to the land of Oz the other the UK were the genuine movie cars so the quality probably was alot better than what veilside have now? miguel im sure can tell you more gtrlux.

If you've got the money, go for the Fujita engineering RX7 kit. It's stunning.

We've fitted a few Veilside kits now and I'm yet to be impressed with the fit, we've had to modify them to fit the car to our standard.

I like the RX7 in Chris' second picture the most. Really beautiful. RX7's are really cheap in the UK compared to Germany. Taunting..

It looks like the old saying 'you can't polish a turd' is true then.

Just jossing, but I do like the rear view of that Supra.

I am not asking every bodies opinion on the Veilside Fortune kits style . . . it's nothing to ask about on a GTR forum . .sorry

The kit is stunning and it's purpose is to astonish, and it does it very well . . . show me an equivalent option to the fortune kitted RX7 and I will buy it streight away . . but unfortunatly there isn't any realiable 15 years old car, with RX7 performance and looks , having a fortune alike kit to dress on. So if you want super car looks , you not need to buy a super car, and that's what many peoples drives to Veilside and co.

Thrust , I had been thinking about the Afflux Ver5 as well, but unfortunatly it is far too expensive (1.6million for the kit only) . Then it keeps standard door exteriors . . all in all for such a bodykit price tag , I think the Veilside goes more far and gives more for the price.

I refered to Miguel (Newera) as he sourced out the blue one for the french magazine for the Paris Tuning Show and next to the original (vine-red-black) Tokyo Auto Salon RX7 , theses two seems to be the best executed of all the fortune kitted RX7 around. I heared the Fast and Fuzzi exemples were horrible executed too (for budget savings), . . . . comments on quality differences much appreciated . . .

The only problem with the kitted RX7 is: Its just a kitted RX7.

If you drive a Lambo,you drive a Lambo,fact!!

Agreed

But actually I don't want a Lambo. If you buy a fortune kit, you want to be different, enjoy a unique styling and car proportions you won't get anywhere else, my reference to the Lambo was merly to show that you not need anymore to spend 250000$ just to have super car looks(wider, flatter and more agressives lines then the usual cars on te streets) and 600HP under the bonnet (behind the seat )

Why not just buy the new GTR,will not be as flat as a lambo, but will be as fast and agressive, for far less then 250000
