Is that two VG30 (300zx) engines strapped together?

Its hard to make out but the cam covers look similar and I can see a gap between the inlet at cylinders 3/4.

the Supra uses a V12 powerplant from it’s Toyota cousin the Century. The engine desigation is 1GZ-FE

V12 toyota engine actually...forgot the name for a split second now but its a luxery one atleast..

werent they aiming for 400kmh though?

Yes the goal is 400km/h this was just a preliminary run.
