10,000 km normal drive oil change interals? Wow, some people I know will need to change it once every other year or so.

Whereas i suspect i'll be changing mine 4 times during the summer, oh well. Hopefully i'll find a cheapish source for the lubes, i dont fancy paying the dealers beyond the regular servicing intervals.

Good on ya for buying a car and actually USING it!

My Brother bought a new 2007 Corvette Z06 around this time last year, had almost 35 thousand KM's on it by the time he parked it in October for the winter. What fun is a fast car like an R35 if you never drive it

Putting there some track days and maybe the 3000kms of hard driving down to 1000kms or even lower.

I thought the GTR used 0W60 and not 0W40. Was wrong, i guess.

Anyone thinking in change the degree of viscosity ?

3000km for hard driving - that's pretty frequent then - never heard of a car needing changed this often, then again, this ain't no ordinary car though.

Oil change

It costs about HK$15,000 to change transmission oil, engine oil etc. Anyone tried non-R35 oil? The original is too much to change 3 times per year.

That is a rip off! Which dealer did you buy the car from?

Are you horse? Anyway.

Just wonder if anyone has changed their oil with the brands recommended by Nissan and if so how much did you spend?

I think the problem is your dealer is telling you to do something that need not be done! That's why I asked you which dealer you bought it from?

A normal 3,000km first service requires an engine oil and filter change only (plus a few visual checks on the car). And it costs less than HK$2,000 (GBP130). Your dealer is telling you to change transmission oil, brake oil, diff oil, and etc and they are trying to make some profits from you only!

I had my first service and it only cost me HK$1,800 (GBP118)!

would have to agree. you're getting ripped off. who's servicing your car? SPS? if yes, then that's the reason. SPS will not be able to add any value whatsoever to a basic service for a GT-R.

tokyogtr is in Japan. If his first service at the Nissan service center didn't require changing all of the different kinds of oil, then that says it all! Anything else besides engine oil and filter change is just the local dealers trying to make some money after selling you the car! Of course, that includes my dealer too! And that's why I went to my own mechanic instead.

Dear Bro

I will be having my first service after running in, and I will be bringing to waichung for that. And they recommend changing all the oil such as engine, tran, diff etc. they provide three FREE service but i forgot to ask whether parts are included (i doubt it). and I must bring it back in order to keep the two years warrenty provided.

Can someone fill me in what is the official requirement for the first running in service please. really appreciated.
