Thumbs up i was thinking of getting a 1997 NISSAN STAGEA RS FOUR-V

I bought a 1997 Stagea a week ago and am loving it more every time I drive it. Fastest thing I've driven, but very manageable.

Runs great on Tesco 99 Octane, but never visited Tesco so many times in one week!

Will get clocks changed to mph when I take it in for a service. Its not supposed to be difficult or expensive. Currently using my Roadangel as a speedo.

Plenty of advice on web re buying one. Common problem appears to be rust on doors by mirrors.

Also found radio won't scan high enough for a lot of british frequencies. Currently stuck with Radio 2!

Still trying to find a handbook for mine.

Happy hunting

I just multiply the KPH by 0.6 to keep within the limits (sort of )
Rust around the door mirrirs is very common and a known fault, hence the drain at the bottom of the door just below the side mirror. That said I've got someone making me replacement door skins so may well have them available as a sale item soon As for the radio, get a band expander or just replace it with something else

Speedos are electronic so you just need a chip and wiring it in is not too bad . If you think you can do it you will be able to.

Mpg well not that good but it is a big car with 250bhp with an auto box and of course 4wd.

Dont be rushing on getting a speedo converter or a cheap on of ebay as they can do damage to the auto!!!! I just found out mine was giving wrong readings to the autobox it comes up as the power button flashing when you turn the car on rather than lighting up and going out.

You need one thats made for auto boxs. In the diagnostic check you can do on the car it comes up saying speed sensor 2 is the dials and it sends a speed signal to the autobox you need a speed converter that ties in with this.

These guys do one for stageas!
