Pretty much stock other than full exhaust, front pipe and aftermarket air intake.

Need to urgently change my gearbox, rear diff and center diff oils.
I was planning to get OEM oil for all 3 but have been advised to go with Castrol and Penrite oils instead. Im a bit confused as to which would be the best option.

The car is mostly used for road use with a good boot every 4 or 5 months if ever.
Often sits in the garage for 2 to 3 weeks without use.

Penrite suggested SIN MANUAL TRANS 75W-85 for gearbox and Hypoid 80w-90 for diffs

Castrol suggested CASTROL VMX-M 75W-85 for gearbox and CASTROL EPX 80W-90 for diffs.

Advice would be really appreciated!
Hi

As per my above post really. I don't know the specs for Penrite oils, so can't really comment on them and the Castrol VMX-M isn't something I'm familiar with. The EPX is a pretty basic choice for the diff.

Cheers

Tim

Thankyou very much Tim!

No mention of the famous 'smurf blood' Redline shockproof lightweight gearbox oil?

There is no problem with that, but I tend to recommend it only really when the gearbox is showing signs of wear.

Cheers

Sorry, my mistake, an ATF is correct for the transfer box. Ideally it wants to be Nissan Matic D spec (Motul Multi ATF) but the dexron III will do.

Hi

The 15w-50 should be absolutely fine.

Cheers

contrary to popular belief

i was searching for the correct diff oil for Vspec and Non Vspec cars.
It would appear that in the nissan Manual that comes with the car, it recommends at the back that the oils for both Vspec and Mspec cars, and stock gtr34s all use api GL5 oil 80w90 nothing special.
no lsd and no 70-140 oils Ls specified ...
So i dont understand why everyone is using LsD oil, unless u are running a aftermarket diff ??
A-lsd use the plain oil.

A GL5 75w-90 or 80w-90 is ideal for most of the diffs, we sometimes recommend certain LS oils as they are very good in any diff. The V-Spec diff needs a SAE90 LS oil according to my data.

You don't need a 75w-140 in any of the standard diffs, only in certain aftermarket ones.

Cheers

I need your help.

I'm trying to investigate that information about about oil gearbox for getrag 6spd , - R34 V-Specs Nur2
I have a question about it???

Which I can use that oil for Transmission?
1. Toyota v160 oil gear
2. Royal purple synchromax (the most people who have Supra, use royal purple synchromax oil for getrag v160)

i want buy oil mission transmission original for r34, but this is hard, get one in japan.

Thanks you

Hi

The Toyota one is probably fine as the oils that I'd recommend for the Getrag box are also fine for ones that need the V160. I can't recommend the Royal Purple as I don't have the specs that it meets.

Cheers

Looking at the links to that oil, they don't mention any manufacturer specs, so I can't recommend it.

Cheers
