TEIN UK
Tein UK have the WORST customer service i have ever come accross and that is really saying something if you knew the troubles i have had with various places in the past
Basically, was advised by tein themselves that superstreet was the best suspension for b roads and occasional trackdays in my R32GTR bought all items from them through an authorised tein uk dealer and had them fitted to the car with an EDFC kit.... Drove the car with the ride height set to std gtr height, it was wallowy and if i drove down a b-road at 70mph the fact that it was so soft made the suspension travel to far and hit the plastic inner arches because it wasnt stiff enough to absorb the bumps...(and this was set to full hard on the EDFC) We raised the car up another few inches and it was still travelling too far hitting the arch and on a track there is no way you could get sideways without having issues so i called up tein and they said that it was my choice to go with the superstreet and that because it had been fitted to the car they wouldnt exchange it ![]() so reluctantly we got a set of harder springs to fit to it at a cost of £350+ took the old springs off to find that the main rod was loose and spinning.... checked the installation manual and it says in large bold underlined letters that the main rod should not turn and that if it does the internal nuts are loose ![]() Called tein up and they said that they have spoken to their mechanics and it is perfectly normal for the rod to be loose and spin. WTF ??? so i sent them their own copy of the installation manual and highlighted the text that said it was definatly an issue.... they replied through the dealer saying their mechanics are correct and the suspension would not even be inspected ![]() needless to say by this point i was a little riled, i have just spent well over a grand on the setup and it has never worked and only covered a few miles but they refuse to entertain anything at all, the funny thing is that the tein dealer i bought them from is 100% behind me and knows the kit is no good for my use/broken but they wont listen to him either !!!! Very kindly he has agreed to take the superstreet kit back from me and will refund me at his loss of the full value which i have to say is really good of them and i am very grateful for.... But to all others thinking of buying tein equipment i would be very careful as not many other people will take the lot back at a complete loss to themselves !! If you are going to buy the tein stuff then dont get it from Tein UK, get the monoflex kit imported at a much cheaper cost from JP because the aftersales service/warranty isnt worth sh.t from them Rant over... |

Thats strange as the Superstreet we fitted on a customers R33 GTR was great, set it almost as low as it would go, with 18x9.5 et10 and that didn't scrub! Sounds like there was an issue with your suspension, rather than Superstreet not being suitable.

It looks like you might have to go to the small claims court if they refuse to play ball. You should then be able to get your money back as it sounds like the items have been sold to you and "are not fit for use".

Yeah i have to admit that the superstreet kit i have been supplied by them IS looking like it is faulty...
The point is though that tein UK will not even entertain it and have given me and their dealer nothing but the middle finger...... No need for me to go to small claims as the dealer is refunding me themselves and taking the loss (not many people do that do they !!) so they deserve a big thumbs up from me for being reasonable which is miles more than i can say for tein uk themselves... i really am appauled that they can be so ignorant to their customers. just buy it from Japan because i cant see any reason why we pay more for the uk stuff and as said before by other members on here, when the kits break they only send it back to japan anyway so whats the difference as you will be stuck without any suspension while it sails back and forth to JP..... |

I can't stand TEIN UK.
Called them up to ask if they could re-build a rear set of Type RA Circuit Masters which they said they could. They said they would need 4-6weeks to inspect them and find any other issues. 7 weeks later they called me to say they "might" be able to repair them and also questioned me on why i was using track suspension for road use. Told them it was nothing to do with them and what could they do for me. Get this bit, they said they would charge me the most it could possibly cost to repair the 2 rear shocks, which was about £500, and any parts that were not used or replaced i would get a refund for. They also said it would take around 5 weeks to repair and this is after 7!! HaHa! I bought an almost new set from Yahoo Japan for just under £700. Also, very poor at customer service. To be honest playasyougo, i am not sure what you expected if you did indeed tell them "it was none of their business". A simple question and an answer might have saved you a fortune. I know any customers that take that kind of tone with me pay full whack. Sorry dude, just some freindly advice.

i have tein super street on my 33 and have 2 other guys that work here who both have super street on a r32 and another 33 and they are all really good on the hardest setting they are very firm for the road and there is no problems with rubbing when hitting bumps,
sound like you have a faulty set there. Tein in the uk have been pretty good when we have sent stuff to them for an overhaul specially on the stuff that is availalbe in the uk such as super streets usually 3 week turn around think alot of it depends on who you deal with at tein. |

I had Tein Flex on mine briefly and I thought it was total junk.
Nismo S tune HA's were great for road use with occasional track and not too pricey from Japan. Infinitely better than Tein imho. The HKS Hipermax II's onwards were also great on my Supra. Personally, I'd never buy Tein or Leda suspension ever again. my 2p Nito

I’m surprised at the poor service you’ve received from Tein. I have contacted them on a number of occasions and have been very please with the service I received? If I recall I spoke to a guy named Chris who was very helpful with giving advice on suspension selection, set up and fitting etc.
